On BBC radio there is a programme entitled 'Desert Island Discs' where various celebrities choose 8 records and a book that, if they were shipwrecked upon a desert island, they would choose to take with them. 8??? They want us to take 8?!? I'll give it a try. The Songs of Distant Earth, Mike Oldfield Bach: The Goldberg Variations, Glenn Gould Rolling Stones, Exile on Main Eagles, Greatest Hits Deep Purple, Machine Head Blackmore's Rainbow, Live at Budokan Rory Gallagher, Irish Tour double album My treasured CD of Fret's best recordings. Books, Carl Sagan's Pale Blue Dot and the new Stephen King, 11/22/63. I haven't read it yet and it's long enough to provide a lot of reading time.
