Holiday on the Shropshire / Wales border

Got back from a week away on Saturday. It rained just about every day and the sun was only seen on the drive home.

Went to Powis Castle in Wales. It was built in 1200, and was added to for more than 400 years.


The gardens are a special feature with an orangery and terraces.




Ludlow Castle and medieval town - the town has 450 listed buildings!

Stokesay Castle- a well preserved fortified medieval manor house near the Welsh border, with its timber-framed gatehouse. Built in 1291.
