We have had a lot of rain for 2 days and my flowers look better. I have 3 rose bushes that were almost dead from the heat but now the leaves are nearly all back with buds here and there. We had been watering them but that is not enough to take the place of hard rain. I will try to get a photo or 2 soon.

We had a squall yesterday evening. Some of my annuals (petunias, etc.) that were in the ground are now uprooted and scattered. I stopped on my way into the house and stuck a few bsck and patted loose soil and mulch around them. Need to give them a little more tlc before dark. it's another hot day.

My neighbors have an archway of roses with huge white flowers. Their blooming season lasts only about 3 weeks and is just now ending. I think the heat hurt them this year. They looked a bit shabby and brown around the edges. I love climbing roses.

Mouse, I'm thinking these are yours from last year. Correct me if I'm wrong. They're beautiful! actually those roses[drambuie] are on the fence..the arch ones are pink ...last year it was just a mass of flowers..and would have been this year had the weather not intervined..instead they became a waterlogged mass of buds slimy and horrid this was the arch one last year

They were gorgeous, mouse. Here are mine just coming into bloom. Smaller flowers but an abundance and blooming until first frost. There are several bushes. think you have posted the wrong picture beth..those red ones are mine from last year with the creamy fox glove at the front..that rose has been awful as well this year the leaves are all spotted and yellow and mildewy with the rain and the damp in fact looking at those pics makes me realise just how bad things have been this year

Oh Mouse! I'm sorry, I did! Was in a hurry and didn't even notice the foxglove. It's lovely, too. I went into my Pictures library, saw red and thought they were mine. I'll bet my newer ones are in email. I'll add therm as soon as I find them . In the meantime, I'm very glad yours got posted. They do look a lot like mine.

First, the Rose of Sharon ... hidden in a border until last summer. There have been - tops - 5 blooms open at one time.
