This is a pic of my greenhouse which I made from Coke bottles. The plants are my Tomato and Sweet Peppers, more to come soon. Sorry if the pic is a bit large. <resized by fret>

It's not my idea, but I have made two of them, the bottom of the bottle is cut off so another bottle can be pushed into it, you thread a column of bottles onto bamboo canes, which are staped onto the wooden frames, which I make first. I think it works well, it gets warm enough for tomatoes (I have had loads the last few years (this greenhouse is new, built this year) , the door never has to be left open as air passes through the gaps, and when it rains the roof lets some of it in watering the plants.

This is closer inside, the Tomato plants will be up to the roof in a few weeks, I am getting some more plants this weekend, should grow them from seed next year, I have 20 hot chilli plants growing on my living room windowsill, had a go at growing them from seed this year, also growing Lemongrass from seed in the house.

its unbelievably chilly to cold today.its almost like autum in fact some of the trees have leaves turning yellow and its only july for heavens sake .the garden is dire every thing is leggy and the soil sodden the lawn squeltchy not good conditions at all the only things thriving this year are the hedgrows which have thrown up an amazing display of flowering things..some thing new almost every week..the cow parsley the vetches and now the wild daisys .. honeysucles and wild roses are abundent have some poppies i grew from seeds i nicked out of a friends garden in yorkshire the big field poppies that grow wild...they are getting their heads on now and with a little sun should come out..am pleased with the fact they have actually grown as our soil and general conditions are very different the runner beans have flowers but are looking weak and straggly..the potatos are showing very poor and not growing well at all and the leaves of a lemon tree i grew from a pip are turning yellow from too much water the apple tree grandson 2 grew from a pip has fruit about the size of a cent or 5pence piece the rain and wind has played havoc on the flowers and the roses so not good growing this year in the peaks
i was given some bonsi seeds for christmas...so i followed the instructions and planted the seeds...and now have a dozen or more growing plants,,,but i dont think they are bonsi though but what ever they are they are doing well

mouse, it will be fascinating to learn what you are growing. Take a leaf and ask someone at your local greenhouse.
I do not know anything about growing potatoes aside from the fact that they are root vegetables. Flowers do not seem to fit that designation. Let us know what you find out, Harry.

Let us know what you find out, Harry. the friend who gave me the bonsi seeds is going to take one of the plants back to the christmas market she brought them from[the same dutchman is there every year] and see what he has to say,,that is of course providing they live till december..they are thriving though and i noticed this morning one of the plants has a side shoot so perhaps they are bonsi after all....we are going to divide the plants that are groing between the two of us and just go with the flow and see what happens as the months go by the sun is shinning so far today so am hoping things will dry out a little in the garden

my garden is turing into a quagmire...what an absolute disaster this summer has been.... various things have their leaves turning yellow or dropping off due to too much water..all very disapointing

Aw, that's too bad, mouse. Everything last year was just lovely. We still have shots of your beautiful roses in the summer, 2011 Loom. Here are my shrubs and this was after they'd been clipped but not brushed off. These were already here when we moved in 4 years ago. I've enjoyed them. They shield a little side door and keep it slightly more private than the driveway.

lovely Beth and i think we share the same watering can
Harry your potatos are doing what they should by flowering..i dig mine up after they have flowered and when the leaves are turning yellow..think its a little soon as yet mine are just comming into flower..though i wont be suprised if when the time comes to harvest there is nothing but foul mush..prices of spuds and veg are going to rocket because of the awful weather
