Well well. Over the years i and many others have emailed the big supermarkets and asked why the Union Jack was put on English products, but Welsh products would didplay the Welsh flag and Scottish products the Scottish flag. We were informed between the mumbo jumbo and bullshit, that the Union Jack was more recognisable. Some may have noticed that Ginsters products display the Cornish flag....anyway i digress. Morrisons do put the English flag on their English butter..... so i suppose that is a start. So basically if the UJ flag might offend the Scots..... then how about we put the English flag on all English products.... simple. Unless your a Unionist ..... which means we could put the UJ on ALL GB countries..... would not affect England much, but the Scots etc might not like that either eh.

It's the Union FLAG, unless flown from the stem jack of one of HM's battlewagons... *switches off pedant mode

I see the Scottish flag all the time on Scottish food products, I am not offended so why should Scottish people be offended by the Union flag, Rangers supporters actually fly the UF a lot?

Fly the flag and be proud!
Fly the flag!
Asda is owned by Walmart (a US company) and it's probably American management loopers who are behind this stupidity.
You can bet your life if New York had won the bid they'd have been flying the Stars and Stripes all over the place!
More double standards!

Its too late, the genie is out of the bottle. We have to start thinking of England now. Yes, but...surely we should keep all our options open? Salmond doesn't think the Union worth preserving and Wales is drifting slowly in that direction too. The government is on record as offering the Scots yet greater independence if they, er, vote not to be independent. We have got the worst of the deal - charges for everything, the West Lothian question, the Barnett formula etc etc How much more inequality are you prepared to tolerate?

With the thread in the Sports section, re the new GB Olympic kit, (mainly the football kit, which by the way just shows the shirt and shorts, but trust me the socks are BLUE, with a tinge of red at the top), i thought i would put up this clip. It is 4 years old, but little has changed. Obviously with Call Me Dave, "iv'e got a lot of Scottish blood running through my veins" Cameron in charge, it would not change. Perhaps those over the pond may be enlightened as well
