1. You’re having lunch with three people you respect and admire. They all start criticizing a close friend of yours, not knowing she is your friend. The criticism is distasteful and unjustified. What do you do?
I'm very loyal to my friends and I'd have to gently say something to maybe make them aware of other sides of the person that perhaps they don't know.
2. If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be?
Be kind.
3. Would you break the law to save a loved one?
God, yes, without a second thought.
4. Have you ever seen insanity where you later saw creativity?
No, but I've seen the opposite where I THOUGHT someone was creative but they just turned out to be a looper.
5. What’s something you know you do differently than most people?
I don't have a dishwasher; we wash and dry by hand!
6. How come the things that make you happy don’t make everyone happy?
Because we're all different individuals. Wouldn't it be boring if we all felt the same or like the same things?
7. What one thing have you not done that you really want to do? What’s holding you back?
Going into politics; I can't make up my mind which party I dislike the least!
8. Are you holding onto something you need to let go of?
God, yes; shame, grief, guilt, anger, resentment, all that kind of stuff. It goes way back to my teens for the most part.
9. If you had to move to a state or country besides the one you currently live in, where would you move and why?
Difficult - I like Canada, France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Ireland and Turkey; in terms of the United States I like Wyoming and Montana best.
10. Do you push the elevator button more than once? Do you really believe it makes the elevator faster?
Yes, but I know it makes no difference. It's just habit and wishful thinking!

I'd probably start out with, "I know her/him quite well and must disagree."
No way would I sit there calmly and listen to that sort of thing. It's possible I could be wrong, but I'd stand up for my friend. To fail to do so would mean I was not a friend at all.

1. You’re having lunch with three people you respect and admire. They all start criticizing a close friend of yours, not knowing she is your friend. The criticism is distasteful and unjustified. What do you do?
Keep quiet and compare what I know with what they say. I can't say for people I respect and admire but I've often formed an opinion on people I did not know by what they had to say about people I did, and I have sometimes formed an opinion of somebody I did not know and what people I did and disliked were saying about them - if they disapprove, the other's probably OK, if they approve, not. Only if what they were saying was based on outright slander, I might speak up to say their sources were lying.
2. If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be?
Don't let the bastards get you down.
3. Would you break the law to save a loved one?
Yes.
4. Have you ever seen insanity where you later saw creativity?
No - but I've sometimes realised that what I thought weas creativity or genius was only insanity after all.
5. What’s something you know you do differently than most people?
Use a mouse! I learnt with an AutoCAD graphics tablet and drawing screen on the left, control monitor and keyboard on the right and I'm fairly left-handed anyway, so I used a right-handed mouse left-handed with middle finger on the left and middle (Linux) and right on the right.
6. How come the things that make you happy don’t make everyone happy?
We all have different tastes. A lot of things that make other people happy don't interest me either.
7. What one thing have you not done that you really want to do? What’s holding you back?
I'm tempted to say Sex Change! I'm not sure among several things. Unstable conditions, not sure what might come after, uncertainty.
8. Are you holding onto something you need to let go of?
Maybe regrets about things I thought I could do but proved distracted too easily.
9. If you had to move to a state or country besides the one you currently live in, where would you move and why?
France. I've always felt they realise that everything else exists to serve the art of enjoying life, but they are not so laid back that they make no effort at all, like Mediterranean countries.
10. Do you push the elevator button more than once? Do you really believe it makes the elevator faster?
Yes. No, but I often think it responds quicker if it gets more presses. Same with pedestrian crossings - I'm sure they need three goes to work properly.

2. If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be? Hang to the center and if you must lean to the fringe, watch your back. 3. Would you break the law to save a loved one? Absolutely. No question, no hesitation. 4. Have you ever seen insanity where you later saw creativity? Agree with those above (Erasmus and Lin?) that the reverse is much more common. I think most people would always prefer to put the best colour on things and give others the benefit of the doubt, but at some point, the down-side becomes obvious. OTOH, this is quite rare. 5. What’s something you know you do differently than most people? OMG yes! Probably lots of things. I've always marched to my own, personal and very talented, drummer . Just one thing? hmmm ... I take the stairs instead of the escalator. 6. How come the things that make you happy don’t make everyone happy? I have no idea. They should! 7. What one thing have you not done that you really want to do? What’s holding you back? Traveled abroad. Time, money and other commitments. 8. Are you holding onto something you need to let go of? Sure. A little baggage here, a little cargo there. 9. If you had to move to a state or country besides the one you currently live in, where would you move and why? England or Canada. They both seem good places to live and I have no talent for languages. 10. Do you push the elevator button more than once? Do you really believe it makes the elevator faster? I don't do this and hate it when others waiting with me do.
