""The prime minister insisted he would be willing to leave the transition period without a deal. He said: “We will prosper mightily under any version and if we have to go for an Australian solution then that’s fine too.” Australia and the EU do not have a free trade deal and there are tariffs on goods, including 48% on lamb and 84% on beef.""
But surely once we exit the EU for good we don't Need to charge tariffs on food imported from Australia ? or am I wrong ? I always assumed that once we ditched the EU we could import stuff without Tariffs, please correct me if I am wrong !

1) The EU levies tariffs on non-EU countries.
2) Yes, once we finally leave that nightmare that calls itself the EU we can strike trade deals freely on OUR terms.
And hooray for finally geting our independence from that morass!

Some of the Fake News and Lies Media made it sound that the UK was going to be charged tariffs once we had left the EU. If there are no tariffs anymore then how can the boss of a large Supermarket say that food will be 5% more expensive and nobody pulls him up about his statement ?
I suppose the UK doesn't have to charge VAT either and we can reduce Corporation Tax too, I reckon that was what the EU were really worried about?
