Friday night my Laptop running win 10 decided it would do an update and I had no option, after a load of churning and messing about it showed me the setup where you have no options but either allow your location to be given, allow adverts etc so you must press ,''continue'' to get working again. My Firefox was gone, will not work so I have to download a newer version etc but no internet on anything so I am using reserve laptop and cursing the goons at microsoft so they all get Herods disease (look it up), he new firefox said it will not accept bookmarks from old versions so what to do ? I am looking to reset to an earlier date and maybe that will fix it but ideally I would like to row back to XP or win 7.
Be Warned folks, Microsoft is not your friend !!

Update on problem. I had Google chrome installed but not activated it so after totally no luck with Firefox I tried Google and was surprised that it worked so I downloaded the latest version of Firefox and installed it, still no luck and I receive microsoft messages of doom, there is a pll that is incorrect (or something like that) Chrome works but Firefox does not, this is strange and I am wondering if this unwanted update was done deliberately to cripple Firefox ? I don't trust any of these firms but I did manage to send a message to microsoft telling them that their update buggered my computer and I also put the message out on Computer forums as well so if anybody sees an unplanned, unwanted update coming, be careful. Another thing, you are supposed to be able to row back to a previous date when your machine was ticketty-boo and working as it should, that was disabled !!

Update, I disabled the update facility, it's the only way to get peace of mind that your machine will not start updating right in the middle of something important. I looked online to see what others were doing and I was surprised at the amount of folk who hate the automatic updating. This only applies to win10 I must say. I am going to see if I can row back to win7 but knowing Microsoft they will have made it difficult. Best Programme ever was win 2000 and then win 98 second edition and of course the Mac, stable as hell !!

The furtive bastards that work for Microsoft have programmed win 10 so it installs only Microsoft recommended stuff so after I rowed back to an earlier date I found a lot of non-microsoft stuff was removed from the active system and placed into a folder. They reinstalled Edge and cortana and I also found Norton antivirus was active which is something I never wanted, never asked for either and it caused my machine to run slower.
The update facility does not stay disabled, it seems after shutdown, it reactivates !

Another comment, the update disabled Firefox but I now receive notifications to use Edge instead. ! Talk about being pushy !

It did it again, a new update was forced on me on 15 October. I opened the machine and turned it on then it went into update mode and said don't turn the machine off. I have no control about what is going on, it does what it wants to do and if it is installing spying software or searching through my porn collection (joke), I don't know ?
