mouse "and of course what will the eu do about Orbin with his unashamed power grab enabled via covid19" What can the EU do ? I really like Orban because he does not let them bully him. I recko that most of the clever bosses of the EU Member states know damn well the EU is doomed, the covid has wrecked their economies, the UK is leaving and it will be a hard Brexit so no Payments any more from the UK, we cannot afford to cough up 40 Billion anyway and Boris will do the deal with Donald so that's one in the eye for the Rogues of Brussels !! A British firm was contracted to print the new Deutsche Mark for the Germans, they are prepared for the euro collapsing. It is going to get very messy so stock up with stuff for the winter.

i agree Toby...it could a very alarming autum.. winter spring indeed.... all we need is a bad harvest this year.. and between rocketing prices.. failing governments and hungry disgruntled bitter and scared populations... its open season and any thing could happen ive always kept a good food stock.. winters here are eratic with roads whch turn into ice rinks and snowboarding land..... our stock proved invauble during the first weeks of the virus when every one was panicking...daughter only needed to shop for fresh veg and meat as we prefer fresh,,,, and so we managed very well
re Orbin….he certainly has taken the opportunities covd19 has offered to consillidate his hold on power,,though he had tied up most issues which he benefitted from already and the eu did nothing to stop him....he stood up to the eu and they were pathetic when they should have been strong to the power and land grabs,... but the eu were so concerned with trying to punish the Brits for daring to want freedom and to leave the eu……that they made it personal and took their eyes off a boil which needed lancing well whether they survive or not...the world has seen just what the eu and its selserving corrupt komisars can and cannot.... will and will not do in times of extreemis

It's warm today but we have a cloud cover and it's getting ready to pour the rain. Hope everybody here is well and happy. It's clouded over here, too. There was a lot of bird activity and song untiol about 20 minutes ago when it got quiet. I guess that means the rain is coming in. It's warm though and forecast to go into the high 70s F this afternoon. A good day to all.

lovely sunshine and not cold....so looks like it will be a relaxing sunday
it seems there was a mass exodus of people to some of the coastal regions yesterday.. inspite of being asked not go too far.. our area was quieter though than some of the others probably as the sun wsnt shining here where as Friday the village was awash with those on a run out to the country.....any way the police made record fines .. some 14thousand of them.. and on some roads were turning people back... what is the matter with some of the population they really don't have brains.... any one is free to think that its all a bit of a farce and that lock down has been over egged..... but one thing is sure.. there is a virus and its a killer for some with health issues... however it is still an indisputable fact that more recover or don't even know they have had,, than die.....so go with the flow...because apart from those who die it can leave some very nasty health issues behind....
big row here about opening the schools again..... not all the schools have been closed.. the children of Key workers have benn attending all the time.. and none of them have gone down with the covid19 related infection... any way the UNIONs are trying to be tough [and prove they have relevance] are screetching its too soon and its putting teachers at risk... parents are screetching save our little darlings and others are saying it should remain the children of key workers but should include the more vunerable and special needs schools should open.....[seems having vunerable and special needs at home for 6-7 weeks has put a strain on the parents and carers]no comment on that ]

The medical people say "no", but Trump is concerned about his re-election chances. So far, our Governor will not send the kids back to school as Trump wishes untiol we see what the situation is at the end of summer vacation. Other governors feel the same though some have let Trump bully them into going along with him. The Trump sons are out giving speeches that the virus is a hoax to cause their father to lose the election. Some people are confused enough to believe them. We can only hope for the best.

Looks like a very slow day here and away from here, too.
Not much going on and it's been a nice warm day for going out and about. We did not do that but at least we took a drive and that was good.
I go back to work full time tomorrow. We'll see how that works out. I'll be wearing a mask.

police broke up a rave in Shropshire yesterday.. I swear there are some that actually deserve to get ill......I am still unconvinced that it was necessarary to use the methods that governments have used[but I have no proof]having lived though two other pandemics without all the who ha and hysteria …...but to deliberately go out of ones way to mix.. especially a rave where dancings and drink and getting hot and sweaty ....is really very very silly...that is not a reasoned response at all
Thailand have had very few cases of the virus...the thinking is that its a culture practiee which as prevented it taking hold.. they irrigate the nasal passage.....
grey again but not unpleasant.. Wednesday will be the start of sunshine again...today and tpmorrow quite patchy.. not cold though

We have a pattering of fine rain today. I suspect it is caused by the tropical story hanging along the coast of the Carolinas. Weather forecasts are encouraging us to be prepared for much harder showers during the week and we are keeping that in mind.
We have invested in a piano, mostly for my enjoyment. I have been without a piano for years but always played when I was younger. A private individual put one up for sale, we went and looked it over (a spinet) and made the purchase. It just fits in a little nook off our living room. So far, so good.
