As some will know, my other half is Italian and has lived and worked in the UK since 1978 - some 40+ years.
To beat the October 31st deadline - before the UK allegedly leaves the EU - she went to Italy yesterday to visit her family in various places.
Arriving late at night, she'd already booked a hire car, but at the car rental office they suddenly decided they no longer recognise UK driving licences. You can imagine the heated exchange. BUt without a car key what can you do?
After being forced to return to the airport proper, she got a rental car with no problem - except an inflated charge, of course.
This is the EU right now.

I think we may have a similar problem Fret.... at the moment we are thinking of everyone going to son 1 for Christmas.. so that's two from Paris and two from the south...….we shall wait till November either out or in or delayed yet again.... before we see it its worth all the hassle...…. Hope you have no more problems and financial exploitation....

Gatwick wasn't exactly welcoming on her return, either. That has changed markedly.
Strange times ahead.
