Quite why they still call themselves Liberal Democrats is anybody's guess. It would appear more apposite to call them the Illiberal Elitists. But even more worrying is their campaign calling on the EU not to do a deal with the, er, UK. Treasonous stuff. Earlier this week, it emerged that Liberal Democrat MEPs have written to Jean-Claude Juncker urging him not to do a deal with Boris Johnson.www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2019/09/22/have-lib-dems-made-strategic-blunder-extreme-positioning-brexit/The results - www.bbc.co.uk/news/politics/eu_referendum/results - are quite clear. It's not the result I voted for, but that is the result and that's how democracy works. Well, it used to be... Liberal Democrat leader, Jo Swinson, said she would cancel Brexit on her first day as prime minister. www.theguardian.com/politics/video/2019/sep/17/jo-swinson-lib-dems-would-revoke-article-50-on-first-day-in-power-videoThe 2016 video taken during the vote count has resurfaced as Ms Swinson announced the Liberal Democrats will revoke Article 50 if they get into power.
In the video, Lord Ashton, who died in 2018, said it is the duty of politicians to carry out the referendum vote whatever the outcome as the democratic system cannot run if politicians don’t accept the democratic judgment. Its latest appearance on social media comes as Ms Swinson has faced huge amounts of criticism calling her “undemocratic” for plans to revoke Article 50 despite 17.4million people voting to leave.www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1178566/brexit-news-paddy-ashdown-no-deal-vote-leave-eu-liberal-democrats-revoke-article-50This kind of thinking is entirely normal over on the remain side - didn't know what they were voting for, too stupid to understand etc In 2008 Irish politicians failed to convince the voters, who voted no [to the Lisbon treaty] by a margin of 53% to 46%. Sound familiar? The more educated voted yes and the least educated voted no. www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2019/sep/16/the-guardian-view-on-a-liberal-democrat-revoke-a-promise-that-wont-be-redeemedGot that? the least educated voted no Still, the EU made them do it all over again to get the right result. The Illiberal Elitists, however, will never contemplate giving the least educated another chance to say no. It's their policy to ignore the vote. In the following months, the EU member states repackaged the constitution into what became the Treaty of Lisbon in 2009, a document which, while not a constitution, was considered more or less the same as the one which the French and Dutch had fairly resoundingly rejected. Sarkozy presented the treaty to the French parliament and it was adopted. Many French voters, especially on the left, believed their wishes that they had clearly presented in 2005 had been ignored. Sarkozy did not consult the people. And the Dutch fudged it, too. The UK hasn't been so easy. Watch this space.

The snouts have for some time now been concerned at their standing in public opinion - down there below estate agents - and the disengagement of voters. It's always a problem with the voters. They can't be bothered to get out and vote or use a postal vote and sentiments of that nature. It doesn't occur to any of them that it might just be the fact that there isn't anybody or any party worth voting for that turns people off. Rather than put it to the people in an election, the snouts want to depose Johnson and pick an agreeable name out of a hat as prime minister. A fair example to show why I refer to Westminster as the Parliamentary Dictatorship. For the political elites the people are an afterthought, nay, an inconvenience. I had hoped Boris would prove trustworthy, but he's another green loon. Mucho disappointed. gatesofbabylon.com/thread/26062/boris-blown

I have come to the conclusion that non of them are to be trusted.....still the finale will be on the 1st of November......will we be in or will we be out...….I couldn't guess at this stage...…….if we are not out there will be some very very unhappy people around... and the eu has some very serious monetary issue to deal with already as well as out breaks of civilian disorder

But once England is well out of the EU, you should prepare for an influx of refugees as people try to escape the EU.

But once England is well out of the EU, you should prepare for an influx of refugees as people try to escape the EU. we all ready have them and not all of them legal... but they are not refugees as such.. just economic migrants ….some of whom work... some of whom are criminal and some of whom do not work..... if the eu is soooooo wonderful with medows of peace joy and rivers of goodness.. one would wonder why any would need to be migrants or indeed criminals...…… and guess what they don't want us to leave the eu… well tough... if they have been law abiding then they wont have any problems..... but those who haven't worked will have to get used to a different set of rules.... and the new rules will include those coming here having to abide with an Australian type of entry system
