It's been a scorcher today. Like almost every July since I was a kid.
This is why we have outside swimming pools and indoors air conditioning.
A word of warning. Quentin Tarantino's movie about the summer of Charlie Manson and his gang is due in theaters in the next few days. The name of it is, "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood", which sounds like a nice musical or comedy. Not so.

lots of thunder and lightening.. very impressive to hear and watch... and then it was all over not as hot today as it was yesterday.. but still sticky and humid....
I found that yesterday I posted this in the wrong place seems its going to be the hottest day ever... or perhaps the hottest day recorded... so far its very pleasant … we sweltered in Wales but had a lovely break toing and froing a d traveling miles for shopping trips.. and after noon high teas made by a delightful lady and seved out side her cottage deep in the country side... it was cool in sons garden sitting by the stream and just wholly refreshing and well away from all traffic......and as usual we were sad to leave them....but we had a good journey home .. sorry to leave mishy and idriss behind.. mishy is such a lady.. but idriss is still just a very lovable naughty dog who if he were human would be in special school

It's cool and sunny this morning with lots of locust singing in the trees.
The forecast is taking us back up to the high 80s F. this coming afternoon. Then, back to hot for the weekend.

stayed sunny and warm for the rest of the day yesterday... this morning is decidedly cooler and we await thunder storms and torrential rain... promised by the weather people.. so all our work in staking etc in the garden will be undone....

We just had a MAJOR thunderstorm. Loud thunder, a lot of lightning, heavy downpour and even a little hail right before it was over. It lasted about 40 minutes.
I'm happy it cleared the air, and I'm very happy I was not out on the highway. Sirens are still going off and on!
The temperature was 88 degrees F when the storm started and now it's 67.

Those big storms bring you wide awake. Back in 1971 I moved to North Eastern Wisconsin and during the first night there, a large storm came up and when it thundered the windows would rattle in their frames. Not much sleep that night.

The rains have cooled things off and it's going to be a good night to sleep. I've had a long day at work (split shift) and so I'm ready to go to sleep as soon as my head hits the pillow.
A wish to you all that tomorrow will be a good day.
