our fete/carnival is not religious based.. its just set up by people who live in the village though talking of religion. there were two different lots set up and they were a pain in the neck the young Christian farmers.. and the top chapel happy clappies[top chapel is a chapel high on a hill.. and there has been a chapel there since the 13th century when it was also a hostel where travelers could stop off and have a bed and food from the monks who ran it]any way its been taken over by zealots and happy clappies who have evangelical zeal who want every ones soul .. doesn't go down at all well...when they pounce on random people with their message.. and as political parties are not allowed to set up stall... I think there will be a move for the religious to be banned if they intend to preach at people …

No preaching or soul-winning, just a good time for anyone who chooses to attend. If there is any profit, the schools are the ones that benefit.

Beth asked me to shut down the ad-free for guests for the time being.
If you don't like the ads (and who does?), just log in or register to get rid of them.

no I was just sayin that ours is village based with every one joining in, I personally have no time forty happy clappies the sweet smiles that turn into a grimace when they dont get what they want ,,evangelicals heaven fortend .. any way it has been mentioned about their words and actions .. and two problems 1/ freedom of speech[we are very conscious of the freedom to speak]and of course we know these peoples in our daily lives and there is no point in causing division 2/and the land we hold the fete on was given to the village for recreational usage so technicly they couldn't be stopped from using it so its been decided next year they will be allocated different spots for their stall/tent and that should solve the problems any profit made is ploughed back into the land we use... this year it will be used to buy a few trees

after yesterdays wonderful sunshine .. we have gloom.... again... its rather humid and sticky so wish we either get some more sunshine or a storm to clear up the ait As long as you have nice weather for your trip. We have a beautiful day here, today. Yesterday started out that way. I decided to walk the 3 blocks down the street to visit with a friend for a little while yesterday afternoon. After a nice visit, we noticed it had clouded over and a breeze had set in. I was ready to leave. He offered to drive me. I said no, I needed the exercise, so he insisted on loaning me an umbrella, just in case. I got a little less than half way back when the rain came in hard .. a torrential downpour! Even with an umbrella, I was drenched by the time I got home. :'(

Aw mouse, I'll miss you. You always give me things to think about
Our heat wave has started here. Today's high is forecast to be in the mid 90s F with a very high humidity level which always makes it seem hotter than it is. Locally, it's supposed to last until Monday.
