we were talking about your election yesterday and wondering what the end results will be .. as we sat around with tea and cakes[sarnies too]after we had browsed and bought lots of the goodies on display... the persons whose house it is imports lots of things [not the tat imports].. so its always interesting to see whats on sale and many Christmas pressies are bought at considerable savings .. this year included cashmere scarves and evening shawls .. hand knitted wool scarves...purses.. bags...some jewelry .. blingy travel slippers... make up holders...winter hats..etc etc
this morning is dreary and damp and quite windy

It has been in the 40s F and quite nippy today. Our next door neighbors brought us a tin-full of home made holiday cookies. Very pretty and tasty. My holiday baking does not start until the week after Thanksgiving, and they are on my list. A great time of year.
Things are moving along. The elections are over and we are quite happy with the results though a little under joyed with Ted Cruz serving another term.
We mostly watch all the House returns. Our Senator, Mitch McConnell, is so entrenched it would take a keg of dynamite to dislodge him.

bright cold dry day out for lunch later so looking forward to that I hope you had a nice lunch, mouse. The sun's bright, the sky's blue and the temperature is brrrrrr. Christmas lights and bargains are up in the stores that are hoping for some sales before Black Friday. It all depends on what you're shopping for. If it's electronics, wait and get a great deal. If it's baking goods, jewelry or clothing or bed and bath household items, there are bargains now that are worth a thought. Terrible shooting at a club in CA. Not a dive but a reasonably nice club that catered to college kids and off duty law enforcement. 12 dead ... 11 and the shooter who was a very presentable former military may who just happened to be mentally. There were clues but no followup to get help for him. As if that was not enough for CA this week, they've have more horrific fires - these very close to heavily inhabited areas.

I usually wait until after Thanksgiving to start sharing my baked goods but am shopping for nice extras already.
Have a great weekend, everyone.

We have our first really cold weather of the season, with clouds and a chance of SNOW! - at least in Indiana. Not sure about anybody else.

Did the U. K. become part o the EU at the same time as the other countries? If so, that means you might remember your country as a separate state and believe that was the best way, but it may not work exactly the same with the other nations under EU rules and laws. Let's say the U. S., Canada, Mexico and the countries of South America decided to go together to orm the American Union. Then, Mexico decided they wanted to go beck to their independent status. Perhaps they could arrange to do it, but with the opther AU countries still in the agreement, it wouldn't be the same as before. Would it?

Icy here tonight with an ice glace forecast or an ice glaze in the morning on streets and walks. That's the worst kind of winter weather. Even with continuous traffic, there are icy spots, especially on bridges and side roads.
If you're in the east and getting hit with this winter blast, take all precautions.
