I have a problem with Perry's comeback. Shouldn't the first single release off the album be the best or the near best to give him a big push? This song, No Erasin, leaves a lot to be desired in my opinion. It's about getting back together with an old girlfriend and making out in the back seat of her car.
Steve Perry is pushing 70 years old. Isn't that a little far fetched? Not only that but the music is not very appealing, at least not to me.
I seriously hope there is a better song or 2 in Traces. The album is getting plenty of verbal hype but there has to be something there to show it deserves it. The official release is October 5th. I'm cautious but my fingers are crossed it's a hit.

Don't be too sure this album won't be received well. The fans will pick out the songs they like.
Perry built a huge, solid fan base during the times he was active. They aren't likely to forget him.

When Perry left Journey, they dropped like a rock in fan appeal ... the crowds dwindled. I can see Neal and Jon holding a grudge. I've long believed Steve was second only to Freddie Mercury as the best voice in rock music.I haven't heard the new album yet. More later after I listen to it.
This one was recorded after he had the accident that resulted in hip replacement surgery. Just barely hangin' in there but still excellent.
