another one from across the pond, my favorite animals song, great for being an all around song, lyrics and music From my home town. But not quite the same without Alan Price, Chas Chandler, Hilton Valentine, and John Steel. I followed them from when they used to play in the Downbeat, which was a rat-infested shack behind Newcastle Central station. Great band then. Burdon did a lot to make the Blues known in Britain. He and John Mayall and Alexis Korner. Happy daze. everybody in the world has done it, but i still think that the animal's "house of the rising sun" is the best version ever

I'll be 64 in June, Jumbo. We're the last best hope for civilisation. i only beat you by three months. unfortunately, true civilization was lost a couple of decades ago

The Animals were there miming to the record on camera. Me and my pal were walking past the main entrance and they wanted teenagers to fill the seats. Pure luck. Know every word. Used to play it in the band I was in then, 1964 or so (lead guitar, Undergrowth). We never made a record, but we had a lot of fun.

How about let this run until Saturday and Jen can set up the poll? Let's have some more nominations! I'll think of another one myself.

What were you thinking of?! until they started with the disco stupidity, they were absolutely great. every song they did was good. this one is super for the record, there actually have been some good aussie singers. olivia newton john, occassionally elton john, and of course, keith urban nowadays is great.
