It's mild, in the 50s, today with sun and clouds.
My husband's boss is having a Christmas party tonight.
We may even go!

Sunshine and temps in the 50s. More like spring than December.

The temp was into the 40's C, when I went into town to see a morning movie on Tues.19th. On Wednesday we had a storm and even hailstones. It's hard to believe the weather could change so drastically within a day.

Tomorrow is the Winter Solstice, Yule, the shortest day and longest night of the year. I do not believe it will affect me at all. I have picked up a terrible cold and foresee going to bed early with a vaporizer on the nightstand for the next 2 or 3 days. Hopefully all will be batter by Christmas eve when we have plans to go to Midnight Mass with friends. I hope everyone here is enjoying the holiday season.

It is in the 50s and it will get up into the 70s later today.
My grandma passed away. When my mom texted me to call her when I was awake, I had a feeling that grandma had gone. I’m going to miss her.

My sympathies, Beez. It's always hard to lose a grandparent. You Texans get that warm winter weather. Enjoy it while the rest of us are shivering in our boots.

Beez, I'm sorry to hear that. I lost one of my grandmothers when I was a child and the other when I was in my late 20s and still have moments of missing each of them. Everything she taught you will stay with you.

we are now not going to son1 for Christmas... as grandson 2 really does appear to have the pox and his eyes hurt.. so he is tucked up in bed...and we shall see how he progresses... no tempreture at the moment ..but deffo pustules.. and that drive and into a houseful of people is not really a good idea .. especially as one of them is a fraile 90 yr old we are not terribly upset as we take the view these things happen.. and the best laid plans of mice and men etc etc
so here we are no Christmas foods in.. so tomorrow and sunday are going to be shopping days for lots of good foods...and lots of cheeses and nibbles

I can relate. Our oldest daughter had chicken pox over the Christmas holidays when she was 7 yrs. old. It was a different kind of experience because she was too sick to do much celebrating. We took goodies up to her in her bedroom and then had a usual holiday down with the other kids. I remember reading to her a lot. Give him goodies, a phone and some books and a little personal attention. It'll be fine and you'll all never for get this Christmas.

Still down and ill tonight. My doctor says it is sinusitis and has called in a prescription for me which my son will pick up shortly so I can start it tonight. Hoping to bounce back quickly.
Merry day-before-Xmas-eve to all.

We're ;supposed to have cold weather, maybe even snow, over the weekend. From PA on north through New England is going to get the most of it! I remember last year, watching the snow fall in NYC through the Times Square cam ... being glad we're far enough south not to have that kind of snow. Mouse, chicken pox is usually a once in a lifetime experience. This will be one Christmas your grandson will never forget. Dex has the right idea.
