A dreary sunday morning ..same old same old I might start building the dolls house I bought some time ago ..though I did promise myself it would be winter interest its all flat pack.. and the pieces are semi cut out so when they are removed from the main its a question of rubbing with sand paper to smooth off and then putting each bit where it goes... it looks rather complicated but I am sure it isn't really That may be interesting. What happened to the colouring books you used to like to do? oh I still do them.. have quite a collection now.. trouble what to do with them once done I like to have several things on the go at once.. that way one thing doesn't get repetitious.. I have to keep my self occupied so dark this morning I have my light on and its chucking it down last evening we had a thunder storm with lightening and loud rolling thunder and the sky was a deep charcol grey

are pipe organs not the norm where you are Cheffy? I think almost every church had pipe organs over here ... not sure about the modern churches though some times though an organ could be in competition with the acoustics and not always joyful
not actually raining .. but yesterday it never stopped it just poured down all day until about 6ish when it suddenly stopped and we had bright hot sun in a flawless cloudless blue sky for around an hour and a half so even though its not raining the ground is sodden.. so the weekly walk our group does has been cancelled as theres no fun for them in wading through mud and slutch.. they are still meeting up though for coffee amnd a natter

just a quiet day and maybe will get enough gumption to transplant six plants.
just wrote to my local assemblyman about the lack of dental care in our county for low income people.

Good morning.
Cool today with very blue skies and bright sun.
Typical for the time of year but cooler than seasonal.
Off and running.

Cool and clear. Pie baking day, today. We have Chess pie, lemon Chess pie and 2 blueberry custard. I got the blueberry custard recipe from the internet and am very pleased with the results. Here it is. Directions Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Place blueberries in pie crust; set aside. In a medium bowl, mix flour and sugar; gradually add evaporated milk, stirring until smooth. Whisk in eggs and vanilla until blended; pour mixture over blueberries. If desired, sprinkle with a dash each of cinnamon and nutmeg. Bake 15 minutes; reduce heat to 350 degrees. Bake 35 minutes longer. Cool completely before slicing. (I did not use the cinnamon or nutmeg. Use your own taste preference on that one.)

Jessie you always make my moth water..with your pies and cooking.. you mention evaporated milk... I love that.. and have it with ordinary milk my morning cereal.. I also like it mixed into an ordinary jelly[mandarin preferably]only adding a little hot water to melt the jelly cube and then adding the needed amount of liguid with evap rather than water
I haven't baked anything for at least a couple of years...perhaps I should give it a try again .. at the moment daughter is collecting blackberries.. there was a time when the boys were younger [and couldn't be filled] when I would send them out collecting blackberries and then make large dinner plate sized pies...
we have bright sunshine this morning .. hope it lasts...... it hasn't

Mouse, Apple Blackberry Cobbler is a delicious treat. I'd make one for you but the best I can do from here is send you a recipe. Let me know if you try it and how you like it. I'm going to the British site for this one so the measurements will be easy for you. allrecipes.co.uk/recipe/4892/blackberry-and-apple-cobbler.aspx

fine morning so far .. am off out for breakfast in an hour.. we thought a large cooked breakfast would also serve as lunch and a meet up place just to chat/laugh and fill the inner woman so to speak the restaurant in the village jnow does super breakfasts... it started off as a tea room and bed and breakfast ..but now as well as being a tea room its also evolved into a restaurant ..and is winning accolades on all fronts for the quality of its different faces last year it started doing monthly evening dinners .. these have now become weekly with the possibilities of twice weekly in the run up to Christmas . .to get tables there one has to book early as its become a very popular venue due to the quality they produce
