It's an in-service day at my place of work so I'm finished for the day with a free afternoon. Nothing planned, so that means shop, read or sleep. Maybe watch something on netflix. PT later, but several hours just for me. It doesn't happen that often.

I hope you enjoyed your day, Beth. It has been a hot day. After doing laundry and a little housework this morning, we went out to the movies. We picked the Pirates of the Caribbean over Wonder Woman, though either would have been fine.
Now, we have ordered a vegetable pizza for dinner as a treat. A very nice Thursday, over all.

found some good series on Youtube about Edwardian Farms and Tudor Farms so I'm off to enjoy watching and hopefully learning something.
I watched the three part Victorian Christmas Farm the past few evenings...will try to post links tomorrow
I wish I could spend about six months traipsing around England...the weather would suit me fine.
good night all

Cheffy.. the farming series which live and farm in different periods of history are really good.. I hope you enjoy them I think theres one going back further than the Tudors... there is also a program about Christmas feasting set in an old castle[quite near us[ .. .which still retained the original kitchens they cooked and prepared from old recipes and served and decorated the way they would have in the 13th 14th century...I will see if theres a link.. a friend of mine is an archeologist.. and they were working on a site near by here.. they always have an open weekend after the dig.. any way they constructed a hut as it would have been lived in.. in Roman Times.. I was surprised at how cosy these huts would have been..[though the smoke from the fire would have not been pleasant to live with]

lovely day yesterday.. great company.. today is sunny .. with patchy rain I'm glad you had a nice day, yesterday. Hope you enjoy the sun between the rain today. Our neighbors are leaving today for two weeks vacation in Florida. They just came over and gave us their keys to hold in case of emergency. I hate having other people's keys.

I hate having other people's keys. its a big responsibility looking after some one elses property no sitting in the sun today in between the rains.. its actually quite chilly verging on cold we have people coming later.. all ready had one friend round to tell me all about the holiday they had which I was unable to go on..erghghg we are sort of inundated with people at the moment....[if the mountain will not go to Mohamed so to speak]...not complaining though

cold wet windy and darkish.. very gloomy
last night there was an open air concert in Manchester in aid of the victims of the concert bombings I gather it was very well attended .. with families and fans supporting.. some trepidation but as one mother said..we are not going to be bullied by idiots... that was pretty much the same attitude when the IRA were bombing at will... and we were turfed out of shops as a matter of routine by bomb scares.. I don't remember any one stopping shopping
oh what a sea change there is.. just heard on the TV some muslim police officer surrounded by what appear to be muslim men address the muslims community .. and have said that muslims MUST do more .. so at long last we have an open alnowledgement that it is a muslim/Islamic problem to quite an extent no more stupidity of denying the conection
seems that some in Barking are annoyed and very understandable that the information given was not acted on but it would appear.. that the information was broadly based rather than specific ...so question asked about that
