I want to say just a word to those who have complaints about being given links to source news articles instead of or along with personal replies to posts. I have a little problem understanding this as I'm always delighted to get a good link I can read for more information. Not everyone has time to type out long missives .. not everyone wants to. Take it for what it's worth and use the links to brush up on your subject. If you're willing to offer an opinion about what's actually going on, could be more folks will pick up on your comments and add to the thread. Things are happening very quickly in politics right now, so by brushing aside links, you may be missing information you need/want to know. carry on This is lame, Beth. You should know better. Bouncing around from one web page to another doesn't make one educated about anything. Only someone that can't think critically would bank on the Internet as a reliable source of information. When someone refuses to defend a position with reasonable argument, I am compelled to dismiss anything that person writes. Maybe we should just have everyone here replaced with robots. They're pretty good at regurgitating search results.

I doubt if Beth is trying to educate you, formally, but if you think opinions from any one of us are more factual than MSM, you don't have much respect for the journalists out there trying to do their jobs. Maybe you have all kinds of free time but most of your posts don't show it. They are short and terse and most times try to throw the burden on others to fill in the blanks. Many of us use links, Beth, Fret, Soulman, Jessie and others. Like it or lump it, that's the way we share information. You sound like you're sitting on a corn cob this week. Get over it! I'm on break right now with a link I want to share. lol

As a former journalist, I have nothing but contempt for the "main stream media," none of which even pretend to be objective. I am looking for honest opinion, not "facts." If I ask for the former, that is what I expect in return, not regurgitated uniform resource locators. The members worth reading, Mouse, Randy, Fret and others, actually have something to say. The rest of you just click and paste what others have already written.

Fret almost always uses direct quotes from articles or whole articles. Mouse usually works from those Fret and others put up. Move off the divide and conquer BS. It won't work here.

The links and current news clips give us a chance to know what's going on at specific times and, thereby, keep us up to date. The news threads are there for discussion ... not as stand-alones. Stop being bossy and take care of your own seat in the peanut gallery. I have a goody from today to add to Politics, tonight. It should be noted and discussed. You're more than welcome to add your thoughts. See "Freedom of Twitter".

We all have something to say Apparently not. Some folks just hide behind links. What a waste of time. It might not be what you want to here, (sic) though. I'd be happy to read anything other than regurgitated, partisan articles. You don't see me polluting the forum with drivel. Fret almost always uses direct quotes from articles or whole articles. Mouse usually works from those Fret and others put up. But they still argue their points.

""Mouse usually works from those Fret and others put up."" is there some thing wrong with that ? I provide my own links where necessary for backup or if I am starting a thread .. and of course one works with links others put as that is the thread topic.. doesn't every one do that ? how else is a message board supposed to work

There is NOTHING wrong with that, mouse. Joseph is growling at us for using links - although he wants to give some a free pass.
Of COURSE we use information from links. Unless we have a direct line to the capitals of the world, it is where our information comes from.
I must say, Joseph, it is a shame to tear into the Daily thread with this kind of foolishness. You are a good poster, but Your posts are very small in length compared to most others. They are certainly no more interesting for being combative.

Any moron can copy and paste a link. I can write a program that will do it for you. it is a shame to tear into the Daily thread with this kind of foolishness. You are a good poster, but Your posts are very small in length compared to most others. That is by design. I challenge lazy thinking, like the kind that gets us involved in civil wars between muslims. No one has yet answered the question.

Sounds like you had a good day, mouse. That's great news.
Today is getting off to a good start, sun coming up, birds chirping and busy. It is not going to be a hot day but in the 70s which is nice and warm.
I have to work a half day. Then, we're going to take the little one to the park Easter Egg Hunt. No rain in the forecast.

WEll then, you take care of your own posts and others will do the same. I had no complaints until you jumped up and started attacking. I assume you are referring to Politics. I LIKE the links.
