President-elect Donald Trump said Saturday he has information that others lack and promised to reveal his knowledge t Speaking to reporters ahead of an 800-person New Year's Eve bash at his Mar-a-Lago estate, a tuxedoed Trump maintained that another culprit aside from Russia could have been behind the tampering. "It could be somebody else. And I also know things that other people don't know, and so they cannot be sure of the situation," he said. Asked to describe what undisclosed information he knew, Trump said, "You'll find out on Tuesday or Wednesday." Trump has scheduled an intelligence briefing midweek on the hacking, a response to President Barack Obama's announcement of new sanctions on Moscow in retaliation for the cyber-intrusion. "I just want them to be sure, because it's a pretty serious charge, and I want them to be sure. And if you look at the weapons of mass destruction, that was a disaster, and they were wrong," Trump said, referencing failed intelligence in the lead-up to the Iraq War as a reason for skepticism. "I think it's unfair if they don't know," he said. "And I know a lot about hacking. And hacking is a very hard thing to prove." Trump has repeatedly cast aside a US intelligence assessment announced in early October that Moscow was behind the hacking, despite already receiving classified intelligence briefings on the matter. He's also praised Russian President Vladimir Putin, calling him smart this week for withholding reciprocal sanctions on the US. Trump's stance has put him at odds with most congressional Republicans, who have argued for a tougher stance on Russia. Sen. John McCain, the Republican chairman of the Armed Services Committee, will convene a hearing on cyber-threats Thursday. On Sunday morning, a Rossiya Airlines Special Flight Squadron plane believed to be carrying some expelled Russian government officials departed Dulles Airport just outside Washington. The US had ordered 35 officials and their families from the embassy in Washington and the consulate in San Francisco to leave the country by noon Sunday in response to charges that Russians hacked the presidential election and harassed US diplomatic personnel in Russia. At Mar-a-Lago Saturday, Trump expressed deep misgivings about technology during his brief exchange with reporters positioned outside his Grand Ballroom. "If you have something really important, write it out and have it delivered by courier, the old-fashioned way, because I'll tell you what, no computer is safe," he said. "I don't care what they say, no computer is safe." Scheduled to return to New York Sunday after two weeks at his Palm Beach mansion, Trump told reporters his New Year's resolution was to "Make America Great Again." "I'll do that one," he said. www.cnn.com/2016/12/31/politics/trump-russia-doubts/index.html

Trump is right, any number of people could have hacked in.
Further to that a lot of "hacking" is not hacking it is information gathered by an insider, and he is right in a way, no computer is safe unless you know every line of code, and nobody knows that, how many people were in volved in writing microsoft software? Thousnads? Then there is all the communications along the way.
PLus Hillary herself is to blamce for not using a secure system.

Kronks dear, this is also about hacking at one of our power companies. It is not all about p[olitics. its all politics...hacking into a power company is as much politics as hacking into the white house or pentagon...its all politically based...when done by one country on another the only time its not politics is when its some one like the autistic young man of ours who hacked into the Pentagon simply because he could..it was a challenge to him not politics hacking is a way of finding the opposite sides weakness and exploiting them or finding the security weak spots for further use down the line its all politics,.simply a new type of battle and what would leave a country most vunerable...lack of utilities for the populations ...water..sanitation ..energy

Gosh! This fake news thing is really taking off in a big way. To underscore the alleged DNC hack we got this. Malware associated with Russian hackers was found on a computer belonging to a utility company in Vermont, according to the company. After being alerted last night by the Department of Homeland Security about malware code used in Grizzly Steppe, Russia's hacking campaign against U.S. political institutions, Burlington Electric Department performed a scan, the utility said in a statement. abcnews.go.com/US/russian-hacking-malware-found-vermont-utility-computer/story?id=44479579But then... Federal authorities see no signs that hackers breached Vermont's electric grid using suspected Russian malware that infected a power company's laptop, the Department of Homeland Security said. “The laptop was not connected to the affected organization’s grid systems,” Breasseale said. “In fact, the organization performed immediate action to isolate the laptop and alerted federal partner authorities.” DHS’s “analysis remains ongoing.” www.politico.com/story/2016/12/vermont-power-grid-hackers-233091I still prefer the old fashioned term, Propaganda. Information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, that is used to promote a political cause or point of view.

I could come along and say the posts on the Muslim attacks thread are fake news and propaganda. Depends on what you want to read and what you want it to mean. The Fake News we've all heard about is not in the MSM, it's in the one sided news outlets and tabloids.

The Fake News we've all heard about is not in the MSM, it's in the one sided news outlets and tabloids. As I said, I prefer Propaganda and that's what it is. You can cajole opinion by omission just easily as you can by planting untruths out there. The Fake News we've all heard about is not in the MSMI'm afraid it is, Dex. You just need to be able to spot it. "Russia's first visible action came later Thursday, when Russian authorities ordered the closure of the Anglo-American School of Moscow, a US official briefed on the matter said. The order from the Russian government closes the school, which serves children of US, British and Canadian embassy personnel, to US and foreign nationals.".
The order also closes access to the US embassy vacation house in Serebryany Bor, near Moscow.edition.cnn.com/2016/12/29/politics/russia-sanctions-announced-by-white-house/I'm sure you heard about that. CNN and other U.S. [and Western] media, quoting American official sources, spread false information, propaganda, or in the new vernacular, fake news. ‘fake news’ about American school closure www.politico.eu/article/russia-has-not-closed-american-school-fake-news-maria-zakharova/

its time it was called what it really is..thank you Fret for that... fake news is nothing more than deliberate propaganda when at government or corporate level and only fake when thought up by some nerd or troubled one sitting pounding on a keyboard
of course theres nothing new about propaganda/fake news...it happens all the time and has been going on for decades...and while the populace gets wound up and looks in one direction....in the other directions things slip by underneath all the constructed faux outrage
the ministry of truth...is alive and well

You['ll be more likely to think/say the Washington Post and New York Times are not to be believed and The Daily Mail and Breitbart are on the money every time. Who do you trust?

I don't think that trusty kind of source is Breitbart or The Daily Mail. Breitbart is a propaganda rag and TDM is a tabloid.

I don't think that trusty kind of source is Breitbart or The Daily Mail. Breitbart is a propaganda rag and TDM is a tabloid. what reliable news sources do you recommend? I find this again and again. Right-wingers routinely diss anything from left-wing or liberal sources (no matter how indisputable the FACTS may be) and left-wingers do the same with anything from right-wing or centrist sources. It's very tiresome; of course we all have different opinions but when a fact is a fact it doesn't matter a bit where it comes from.
