Hi Mike Marshall, Is there a real need to protect your wife from someone's comments? All I suggested was that she mightn't be as sincere about being a Christian as she has indicated in previous posts.
I have great admiration for your wife in many ways, but don't you think it is time that she learned to control her temper. When I first logged in to her forum as an affiliate I witnessed her temper then and commented on it.
There should be no room for people losing their temper on a forum and that goes for everyone. I will never be able to understand how anyone can allow themselves to become so angry that they can post such horrible things
Is it nice to tell a person that they should be in a Psychiatric hospital or words to that effect? Before we say anything in a post, we should ask ourselves, " is it kind? Is it true? Is it necessary? Think about it Mike.!!!

We judge the clothing that we buy, we judge what people we will listen to and so on. Apart from that this is a forum where we all give our viewpoints. I prefer a forum where I know that people will be civil to one another, so certainly don't expect to witness someone giving way to anger, so I'm just stating what I think, in other words I'm giving my viewpoint on a certain matter.

of course we judge and make judgements all the time...its built into our human make up.. but imo questioning her sincerity of her personal Christian beliefes goes beyond judging and becomes a personal attack totally out of order in this particular case
""""There should be no room for people losing their temper on a forum and that goes for everyone. I will never be able to understand how anyone can allow themselves to become so angry that they can post such horrible things"""
well people can and do lose their tempers .. losing ones temper is usually in reaction to something posted as it was in this particular case....Lin simply reacted to what some one else wrote and all in all the posters on this site are very restrained and very civilised when provoked and provoked nastily deliberately and in -necessarily so being civil is a two way street..dont provoke others and there will be no reaction
the point is you didn't just state what you thought..you questioned her personal beliefes and that is a step too far

Suggesting that she should have been shoved into a gas chamber is pretty despicable."" and yet neither of us had a hissy fit or wail about horrible things..nor did either of us report it...nor did we respond in like...

I have a temper. I know it's a fault of mine.
But I'm not perfect and I've never claimed to be.
I try my best to live what IMO is a Christian life as well as I can.
Sometimes I can be satirical or humorous, I admit.
But one thing I NEVER am is insincere.
I'm a WYSWYG kind of girl; with me, what you see is what you get.
If I'm passionate and sometimes that can lead me to lose my temper I admit it's a fault.
Frankly I'm a lot better at controlling my temper than I used to be but it will always be a character flaw I have.
But you know, questioning my sincerity is totally out of order.
I don't question your sincerity even though I regard you as believing in a heretical form of Christianity.
Nor should you doubt my sincerity even though you obviously think Eckists have got 'the truth.'
I'm not that arrogant.
You know, I always think of Jesus' words on the Pharisee and the publican.
I may be the publican rather than the Pharisee but I think my lack of smugness is more in line with Our Lord's wishes than any amount of 'I am saved' 'I am a REAL Christian' talk which to me is not just arrogant but bordering on blasphemy.
My husband can speak for himself; he and I love each other and will always defend and protect each other.
Scottish Lassie, perhaps you should remember the saying of Christ 'first cast the beam out of your own eye.'
Or 'whoever among you is perfect, let him cast the first stone.'
And perhaps while you're at it you might like to tell your guru to stop smiting me. It's very childish.

Hi BigLin, Now who is judging? I personally believe that adults should have left their temper tantrums as a child, behind. It is not becoming in an adult, but so many people don't care how it affects others, and so gives full blast to whoever. I certainly don't want to witness it. Jesus did say that we should be slow to anger. Plus I don't think it belongs on a forum. Let's all be role models, which is what we really are anyway.

Hi Mouse, I didn't see that message, and believe that it should not have been said. The only reason I can give is the fact that Ariel is a trainee Lawyer, since when have Lawyers been known to hold anything back when serving a client. Apparently her training could be to blame for her behaviour. Just a thought.!!!

Okay ladies, that's about enough. The person you're yelling around about isn't here to defend herself. Cut it out.
Why is it that you don't see guys squabbling like this very much?
It seems like a female thing. Not one of your best traits, is it?

I will try to refrain from repeating my questionable behaviour. I said I'd TRY. LOL.
