I think the very best thing would be for the Brits to stop taking potshots at the Yanks and the Yanks to stop hitting out at the Brits. We've never done much of that on this site and I hate to see it start up now. It would be nice to see us, 7 years up and running. its only your election that's aired some opinions and on our side its not pot shots its opinions on the candidates but there are bound to be difference .. and if some thing is asserted is also reasonable to question that assertion and bring in a few facts to back up what is being questioned I don't think Any of the Brit posters are anti American..not liking some stances or actions doesn't translate into being anti...any more than being critical of your pres candidates or bringing up information to answer assertions using information to refute an acusation can hardly be said to be anti American this election has not been good for America [in general]the way its been played out and watchers are bound to have formed opinions we have a very different approach to our leaders ..that has come over loud and clear..we are very critical of them I have seen very little condemnation of Bush junior..and yet we [generalising]would be happy to see Blair in court and hung on tower bridge for his part in Irak and Afghanistan the differences couldn't be more apparent mouse, Dubya was not qualified for the position nor the responsibilities. He was a prop ... a poster boy. Those responsible are known to all of us, and we DO speak out. Even Donald Trump spoke out against the disaster we lived through between 2000 and 2008. Most people actually try to be kind to Bush 43, now. The Obamas' have been very generous. I'm not sure he still has it all together but he got off easily. Cheney and Rumsfeld, on the other hand, should be in prison for war crimes and more.

your elections are very visible on the media...I very much doubt ours was aired to the same extent if at all..more probably not at all plus our pre elections are all of 4weeks or so ...not a year in length we get it in our faces so we are bound to have an opinion... plus America has been seen the leader of the free world....so again it gives us a great deal of self interests in the outcomes of the leadership If I remember correctly .. and I hope I do since it's only been a few months , we refrained from comment no matter how it seemed to us, out of courtesy.

I'd say partisan politics for the most part. Anything that reflected badly on the Bush administration over all or in part, also reflected on the GOP. So, the fix was in almost immediately. Remember, these are the people who outed a CIA operative in a vulnerable position, just to lash out at her husband who opposed the war. As far as the Bush family goes, word was Dubya was determined to stand alone and not be beholden to Poppy or take his advice. Another dumb move and mistake.

Another dumb move and mistake. then he is responsible for what happen on his watch and I would say that it goes far beyond party politics or affiliations..wrong is wrong regardless of who... and several of the prime movers against Blair were supporters... but as I said..blair is paying the price on a personal level...but paying the price in law would be a potent message to any others who may think they can get away with thinking a country is their own private fifedom you have your CIA...we have Dr Kelly and an army not equit properly also the deaths of young men needlessly killed for nothing but one mans vanity and ego
