Oregon school shooting motivated by atheism another atheist genocide. Via NY Times: Kortney Moore, 18, from Rogue River, Ore., was in her Writing 115 class at Snyder Hall when she heard a shot come through a window.
She said she watched as her teacher was shot in the head. The gunman was inside the building at that point, she said, and was ordering people to get on the ground.
Ms. Moore said the the man asked people to stand up and state their religion, and then he began firing.

Update: According to this report the shooter was singling out Christians for execution. The gunman who opened fire at Umpqua Community College in Oregon asked victims to state their religion before opening fire, according to multiple reports. An 18-year-old student told the News-Review newspaper that the gunman, after shooting her teacher in the head through a window, told people to get on the ground. He then told people to stand up and state their religion before opening fire. Twitter user @bodhilooney, who said her grandma was at the school, said the shooter asked people if they were Christian. “If they said yes, then they were shot in the head,” she wrote. “If they said no, or didn’t answer, they were shot in the legs.”

"""he claimed that “all religions have been made by men""" and good old nappy was absolutely correct show me one that wasn't...."" to which Kronks """replies y prophets inspire3d by God""" and prophets are men are they not and in reality prophets simply inspired beliefe based upon their beliefes.....then other men thought up the religion beliefe and religion are to very different things religious construct is entirely Man made..whether it be Christianity or islam...it is all made in the image of man and mans imagining... where did Jesus or God ask for man to provide buildings dedicated to them selves when did Jesus or God ask for the rituals of the church at what point was there insistence on either pope or clergy every thing from the notion of churching women after birth right through to the last rites is mans idea every thing from collection and monetary gifts to things considered sacred is mans ideas again alters..choirs ..hymnals..organs..vestments etc .its all due to man.. as is the notion of womens places in religion being very 2ndry and of no importance and the ideas that that only men can be priest and in the RC that priests cannot marry

the title of this is ""Oregon school shooting motivated by atheism another atheist genocide."" exactly how does a shooting turn into a genocide? ??and then you wonder why you irriate people by not learning anything and go round and round in a circle of assertions which are blatently NOT TRUE this shooting could in no way be linked to genocide or even attempted genocide and the intention was never genocide so your wording is incorrect on every count as is the fact you call him an atheist..an atheist will declare them selves as a non believer in God[any god] and this young man as far as I am aware made no such statement.... given what we know about him he wouldn't have been bright enough to worked out atheism from agnostism..so if a label has to be put on him he probably was a pagan or simply a don't care[of which there are many]

The title of this thread is dumb and it makes Kronks look dumb. He's just trying to get attention and he does but the wrong kind. Lighten up Kronks!

By prophets inspire3d by God. And now that you're making an argument that claims there is a god, let's see your evidence, after all, you never make an argument without presenting evidence - or so you claim. Where is your evidence that this god of yours exists???

prophets...mmm and exactly who decided a prophet was a prophet...they them selves or other men? who needed to put a label on the odd behaviour of such men...please note men..women who acted the same way were given very short shrift...odd that..with a few notable exceptions... the Holy men of India are some times refered to as prophets....many times those who were not the same as other men were refered to as prophets simply because they prophesied ..many of whom now would be under physciatric treatment...the women like mother shipton of knaresbrough were more often deemed wiches those who have visions go into trances have epileptic fits[as did the Prophet of islam]to day are treated for mental aberations[and rightly so] usually scruffy..mutter to them selves and make prounouncement preporting to come from angels or god....the mental hospitals and wards are full of these people some have religious mania others believe they have divine instructions thankfully today we understand their problems...and they can be treated some evidence that GODS exist would be good...but its not going to happen...and considering the numbers of gods mankind has had.. that isn't suprising and its also very true that many things put to people as part of religion are actually left overs from past cultures and then incorporated into the new religion islam for example has bits of bothdesert moon and mediterainian bull worship plus cultural aspects[clothing..diet..etc ] Christianity also has bits from the green man/yule and mithras etc

Oh dear, Kronks. Look, I'm still not quite sure what your religious beliefs are but let's try and keep it simple.
1 People of ALL religious beliefs can behave well or badly. 2 Sometimes they do it BECAUSE of their beliefs; sometimes they do it IN SPITE of their beliefs. 3 People who subscribe to ideologies such as Nazism, Fascism, Marxism and so on can ALSO behave well or badly. 4 Again, sometimes they behave well or badly BECAUSE of their beliefs and sometimes IN SPITE of them. 5 Sometimes people's BELIEFS don't even ENTER their head when they do bad (or even good things).
So let's see if we can find common ground.
1 SOME religious believers behave badly 2 SOME non-religious believers behave badly
So really, why are you trying to make it some kind of issue about religion or atheism?

sadly I think your flogging a dead horse.... Kronks hasn't shown the capacity for understanding anything he is set in his mind that the religious do no harm and the athiests do no good... even though it has been spelt out for him...evidence provided etc etc ....it hasn't been taken on board and certainly hasn't been understood as the name of this thread makes very very clear...which is rather sad
