mmmm..why would anyone think that the face of Jesus would appear in a landslip
especially as the face of Jesus is a western construct......which came to us via Byzantine and European painters
a host of painters all depicting a rather weak effeminate looking young man..ie gentle Jesus meek and mild..
and that given he was Jewish was in all probability rather more swarthy and darker than the common concept...add to that he was a carpenter which is quite a physical occupation and would have developed some muscle especially in the arms/shoulders and depth of chest
then theres Peter the fisherman who is depicted as stockier..swarthier and with short hair..as apposed to Luke [the doctor] who is shown with longer hair...almost implying social standing via hair length,,
and that is without Paul the convert a Roman citizen..a greek who would have had a close cropped head of hair Roman style
all the painters who have depicted Jesus..have created what in all probability is a very false picture..
it would be interesting to find out who started these very sanitised versions of this working man who is instantly recognised across the planet
from El Greco..to Michael D,Angelo..European and Turkish monks to Leonardo Da Vinci..
