Bid to end suffering of chickens blocked after Muslims complain that it would undermine their rights to slaughter birds according to Islamic rituals

New laws aimed at reducing the suffering of millions of chickens in abattoirs have been put on hold by the Government after Muslims complained they would undermine their rights to slaughter the birds according to Islamic rituals.

To the dismay of animal welfare groups, the laws were unexpectedly delayed just days before they were due to be implemented last month.

Senior vets and campaigners said that the delay was ‘outrageous’ and some have now threatened to report ministers to the European Commission for failing to implement the EU-wide rules.

lawdy..these people are not abouty to worry over a few chickens..afterall they have no compunction of throat cutting /slaughtering human beings without sedating them first

What "right" to ritually slaughter anything? If the laws of the country you're in prohibit it then you don't have the "right." Muppets...

And that's before we get into the instruction book for islamiacs (pointed out this week on a moan-in by a more reasoned carpet headbutter) that says they have to live by the laws of the land they are in if they go to a non-muslim territory without let, hindrance or imposition.

There it is: their own manual tells them that, if they go abroad, they should live without halal, without mosques and without complaint and that there is no compulsion to religion. So could they all please now STFU and wind their necks in. Or p*ss off elsewhere.
