Mice, "I Want You Back" (a cover of the Jackson Five song - a most unusual rendition but somehow I feel that it works!)

I don't think my choice of folk songs would go down very well; mainly because most of them are not in English. Regards. Prashna

OK, you and Mike asked for it. Let it be on your heads. Actually, it is exceptionally difficult to deliver this. The ONLY free sample that I have found online is here.
Try the FIRST u-tube by Utpalendu Chowdhury. His father was one of the finest of the genre and my favourite. The son is not his equal but close. Unfortunately the recording is poor and amateurish. Probably done by a fan during one of his visits. I have heard him live here in UK and I could do a far better recording. But this is all I have, for now. It's a selection of a few folk songs in Bengali. The other u-tubes below are by artists that would not be my choice normally. I haven't tried them. calcuttaglobalchat.net/calcuttablog/folk-songs/utpalendu-chowdhury/Best, Prashna

That's the one! In real life in a live performance, the voice, its range and power is amazing. I have had the privilege only a couple of times. Of course I can follow the words, together with the fine nuances of local accent. That helps. Prashna

Prashna He's good and it makes a change from the western tradition - and by that I mean the mechanics. jincin1000.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=prog&action=display&thread=2164

Prashna i'm all ears. music as a language has no borders as far as i'm concerned. abida parveen is a sufi vocalist who is i think is special and i close my eyes and let the music wash over me when i'm not playing the video. she's is good to watch. on utube it cuts short and i don't know how to embed this link. video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1752027181596387056#
