They say we'll have minus zero temps for the next several days. The sun is shining, the sky is mostly blue, but the Greater Ohio River Valley is a big ol' icicle with 3 to 5 inches of snow forecast for Sunday.
Nothing to do but ride it out, Randy.
Be happy with your good fortune, Joy. I don't like extreme weather either way but bitter cold is usually the bigger problem.
I've been out walking in - 0 in the past but that's really not a good idea.

We woke up to frost. I love a cold frosty day in January, just right for taking the dog for a walk but it has rained so much lately that the mud won't dry up. I hate mud!!

2013 was the year from hell. I've had five deaths, three serious illnesses in the family and a string of disasters and a mega workload that nearly overwhelmed me and Mike.
I'm hoping this year will be a better one and I'll be able to feel more relaxed instead of almost permanently snowed under and stressed out.
So far it's looking unclear - it began with lots of unexpected demands on our time and labours but hopefully we are over the worst now.

Good luck with the new year, Linda and all.
We are starting out with better health than for the past 2 years so are hopeful it will last and the year will be a good one.

We have snow. It started about 2 in the morning. I woke up and heard ice hitting the window panes, looked out and there was all ready a covering of snow on the ground. Sugilite, that one is wonderful. Looks like a mini-jungle cat. Thank you for the smile.

Thanks for your kind words, Jessie. The weather in Britain continues to be appalling - so far 7 people have died in the latest series of storms, high winds and flooding.
It could be a week before the weather starts to improve.

Playing safe by staying in!
This is supposed to be the last day and night of temperatures in the negatives, at least for the time being. Last night it was -6 F with wind chill of -26. I do believe the mid-west where Menantol lives has seen worse. It is a painful cold. I went out and set out the trash this morning. My face still smarts from the wind.

I've heard about this "weather" you're having. It's only going up to 72 degrees F where I live today. Brrrr....
