You beat us by one degree, Jim. It got up to 57 here today. Supposed to have highs in the low 60s through the coming week. We'll see whather that happens or not. We usually get stuck in the 50s through the month of November. Have to admit the foliage is beautiful though. I'm sure Chinook and Leroy are well cared for. I've heard it's healthier for medium sized and large dogs to be out as long as they have shelter because being in a warm house, then back and forth into winter temps is more likely to make them catch a cold or worse. it's supposed to be around 65 today, and seventy something tomorrow, then, back to the fifties again. the past two nights have gotten down to the mid thirties, but the rest of the week, we'll have forties. i can handle that. in california, everyone was always an outside dog until coco. of course, there's a whole lotta difference between here and california. it's the landlord and hazel both that don't want them in the house. she was always bitching about the hair from coco and goldie all over the place, and, it really was a pain to sweep the carpet clean, but, oh well. the couple of times that i have put them in the house for one reason or another, they wanted to get right back out. chinook snifs at everything, then decides to go back outside.

Oh it did get dark too early. The fronts that pass through have the most to do with our weather, Jumbo. There are not too many differences except that we are more likely to have snow to your rain in the winter. I liked living in Tennessee for many reasons. The weather was one. Very moderate. we get our share of cold, but, it usually doesn't stay bitterly cold for more than a few days. except for three winters ago, our snow comes and stays a couple of days, then goes away. i love snow, but i hate it when it comes in november and doesn't leave until april

1st November already. Father Christmas comes next month. Boy! is that frightening. 25C sunny today. Been to exercise classes and my walk down the beach. Should be fit. LOL Enjoy your day. what is truly insane is that i saw a christmas petsmart commercial the night before halloween. christmas season does NOT begin until the day after thanksgiving, no matter what stores do. in reality, christmas season doesn't begin until i see a chia pet commercial, or clapper, whichever comes first the oldies station in Sacramento started playing Christmas music on 11/1 so I wont listen to that station until after the 1st of the year again

Went to the shops last Sunday and already the stand where Father Christmas is up and the shelves are empty in some shops waiting to put the decorations up. By the time Christmas comes we are sick of it. Melbourne Cup day here in Australia which is a big horse race. We have visitors coming for lunch. None of us follow the horses but it will be a fun day. Hope your day is as nice.

Hope your day is as nice. It's very similar here. November is a month without a merchandising holiday except Thanksgiving is good for the grocers, I suppose. That means the retail stores in general would love to be able to go straight from Halloween (big sales holiday) to Christmas (even bigger sales holiday) without a pause. I simply refuse to go along. The traditional Xmas parades opening the season are on Thanksgiving morning with Black Friday right behind. Even that early sees excessive. We don't put up a tree or wreath until the 2nd week in December. Just say NO! Melbourne Cup day sounds great. In KY we appreciate our horses. Hope you have a great rest-of-the-week.

Well today I learn if this antibiotic treatment that I've been doing for the last 3 months has worked or not. I'm having the lung cat scan today. If the 11mm mass has shrunk then that's really good for me. If it hasn't shrunk or if it has gotten bigger there will be more lung surgery. I still haven't gotten over the last surgery from this past May.

Also that our trees bloomed out earflier in spring. I thought that it was a good place to live and still do.
