After a very nice day, we are having rain tonight. It is the kind that leads to a good nights sleep so I won't complain.
I am looking forward to the seed and plant catalogues. Mine have not arrived.
The tulips on this garden background always make me anxious for spring. Not too much longer to wait!

The blizzard I mentioned looked like this... That's the front of someone's house: And this is a road: My car was missing for days I couldn't find it! it was entirely buried by snow! the only advantage to driving like the second pic is that you can't run off the road

Driving always beats mass transport . Good for you, Chris! Good luck, Hunny. Having been in a few blizzards, I sympathize. Bet there's no bread, eggs or milk left in most of your markets! i doubt that hunny would know since she can't get there to find out

Been reading about the storm. 650,000 people with no power. 5000 flights cancelled. Good luck to all in the New England area. Stay in and wait for an all clear to start to dig out. i have never seen the percentages in digging out until the snow stops. i think it is pretty stupid to bother with the leaves in the yard until the trees are bare. why can't people see such reality?

It's freezing cold in Chiswick, we may get about an inch of snow soon. That would be terrible round here, the schools will close down, the buses and trains will stop running and no one will be able to get to work. Lawks! I wonder how we would manage if we got some real snow. for sure. why would they close everything down for a lousy inch of snow?

Why is it always the people that can't drive in bad weather that ones that always choose to ignore the warnings and "drive"?
Glad your owl is in Cheffie..........I know you love them.

So many nice things and cool people in the Daily today!
Bright sunshine here this a.m. with mild temps in the 50s F forecast.
Something I never did find out this year is whether or not the groundhog saw his shadow!
Does anyone know?
BTW, mouse is under the weather. We're sending her positive thoughts with best wishes and hoping to see her back as usual and feeling fine - soonest!

Most everyone is scared to do anything these days. Even to our special police constables standing by watching a young boy drown because they were waiting for back up.

for sure. why would they close everything down for a lousy inch of snow? This is England, we're over run by the elf-n-safety brigade. Most everyone is scared to do anything these days. Even to our special police constables standing by watching a young boy drown because they were waiting for back up. Remember the helicopter crash recently in Wandsworth road? Oliver Jones, 33, who works in finance in the City, had seen the helicopter drop out of the sky right in front of him and drove through the ensuing fireball. He had pulled up nearby and got out of his Range Rover when someone shouted to him that the engine was on fire. Mr Jones said he started shouting around at the neighboring cars, “Has anyone got a fire extinguisher?” and ran over to the driver of the number 87 bus. “The jobs worth bus driver was saying ‘No, no, no you can’t use the fire extinguisher,’” he told the Daily Telegraph, “and I said ‘Don't be ridiculous my car is on fire, a helicopter’s just fallen out of the sky.’” Mr Jones said the driver insisted that he needed approval from his control room and radioed though to them..... Oh yes.... Read on www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/9806960/Jobs-worth-bus-driver-refuses-to-let-driver-at-Vauxhall-helicopter-crash-use-fire-extinguisher.html

Inch of snow, things come to standstill in the UK, if leaves on the railway lines stop trains running, why not snow.

This is a photo of my street when we had snow a few weeks ago, and yes the schools all closed down, buses and trains stopped running and the airport closed as well.
