just have to figure out how to change font and I will be a happy camper again. You can set a permanent default font face, size and color fairly simply.
- click the Reply button, which is found on the right side of the bar that says Quick Reply.
- Make sure you're on the Visual tab
- type out any old thing, and format it the way you'd like it to be.
- Switch to the BBCode Tab and you'll see what you typed, along with the formatting code for it
- DELETE THE TEXT, but leave the code, so you see something like this
[font face="georgia"][font size="3"][font color="ae09e2"][/font][/font][/font] - Copy that code to your clipboard
- Go to your profile > edit profile button> Settings tab. Go down to where you see Posting default. Set it to BBCode, if it's not already. Paste in that code, and save.
Now, when you post, all you do is type between here [font color="ae09e2"]TYPE HERE[/font]The other thing I still can't seem to find is a 'reply' button. At present, if I don't want to quote a previous posting, I still hit 'quote' then delete the text. There must be a better way though? The reply button is on the right side of the bar that says quick reply. I'll look around. I'm in more trouble than that! Where is the Spell Check!!! They did not add spell check because modern browsers either have them built in or (in the case of IE) have plugins you can install for it.
Firefox and Chrome have built in spellcheckers. IE has a plugin called IESpell that can be installed. Or you can also try Speckie. www.speckie.com/home
To get IESpell: IESpell download page. Follow the directions under the download links to install and use.
To enable in Chrome
To enable in Firefox

I don't think they're going to give me anything else. That's what they've got to offer and ... end of.

Thanks for that, Moon. I am using Chrome but miss the other ... especially when I have 2 minutes or less to type a post or PM and send it.

Beth, try this to add a link to your Navigation Bar for Recent Post (or threads, if you wish that instead)
Admin Home > Settings > Forum Settings > Navigation, Add Custom and use /posts/recent (or /threads/recent) as the url. You can drag it into whatever position on the list you want it to be in.

How many posts would be available. I'd like 100 as members have told me that's the minimum that is useful for this particular forum.
I think I saw this somewhere in admin and didn't really know what I was seeing. Going to give it to Dex to check out.

it doesn't seem to have a limit. i looked at one forum who had a link provided, and he's got 34 pages of recent posts.. of course i don't know how many posts per page he has.. but even at 15 per page, that's 510 posts.

Here's another thing you might like added - a reply button added to the floating pagination bar. It would appear on the right side of the Search input box.

I just sent PB Support a request to see whether we can restore 100 Most Recent Posts. I'll check back in a while and see what they say. Just the job. Thanks The other thing I still can't seem to find is a 'reply' button. At present, if I don't want to quote a previous posting, I still hit 'quote' then delete the text. There must be a better way though? The reply buttons are at the top right and bottom right of the pages. There is also the quick reply box at the bottom
