mouse, I love bold print ... sometimes use the larger print version of threads but really like the bold better. Don't have to put on glasses or squint. :)
Butter beans and mushrooms sound really good to me. I like both. Yes, asparagus would be my choice ... or brussels sprouts. Maybe chop up some celery and put it in with the mushrooms and top with buttered cracker crumbs.
It's blue skies and sun here, but a little colder than I'd prefer.

A chopped celery/chopped onion mix is very good, too ... in lots of casserole type dishes.
The sky is deep blue - no clouds - the temps are mild. A really beautiful day.

we like celery in broths and salads and are parcial to celery soup...it seems to be quite an overlooked veg...… not a bright day.. but cloudy with temps up slightly.. we have been getting some beautiful early morning and pre evening skies... must be due to the Australia fires.....I remembers looking at some paintings one time... and they were all of brilliant sunsets and sun rises....the artist wasn't to know at that time but the fabulous skies were due to Krakatoa erupting...cannot think who the artist was....am thinking it may be Turner....but I wouldn't bank on it.. my memory is tsk tsk

me, too, for the celery, mouse. Also, a chopped onion and celery blend adds a lot to salsa topped meat loaf or pork.
It's another beautiful blue sky day but colder than yesterday. I'm leaving for PT and actually wearing a coat.

my back which has niggled since I sat in the wrong type of chair on sunday… finally went into break dowm mode last evening... consequently am lying flat on my back unable to sit or stand....this will last a few days.....lying flat.. taking pain killers time and warmth …. cannot see out of the window so really don't know what the weather is doing other than it must be dull as I have my side light on so I can see the keyboard.....in the days before my laptop.... I would have had to rely on the tv for amusement..... at least with this I can balance it on a pillow and look up to read what ever I want to read

A couple of hours ago, we got a phone call on our land line from the national weather service, telling us to be prepared to take shelter from dangerous weather coming through our area. We have another hour to be mindful of the watch, so we should be safe around midnight. It is supposed to turn cold into tomorrow, but warm again on Monday.
Wish us good luck.

We got the same kind of call, Jessie, but our watch is extended until 4:00 a.m..
Fingers crossed it passes over with no damage.

After the high winds last night, it's chilly here today.
I have to take the leaf-blower out and finish off the last of the dead leaves and some branches that got blown down while we were asleep.
have a good end of the weekend, all.

dry and colder... seems we are being battered by some storm.....with winds to get stronger again as the day goes on..... daughter has gone to collect Jakey...and will take him a good walk before she brings him back.... the first day after the weekend he usually sleeps curled up on his blanket on the sofa for most of the time.....though I have no doubt he will come and see me and try to remove a slipper or any thing else he can find ...…although there shouldn't be anything lying around ...
