beautiful orning.. its already very warm.....my ideal sort of day so nothing planed just a mooching day until friends arrive later...Jakey also loves the sun... he finds the shade and then stretches out and once asleep he must be chasing rabbits or leaves the way his little paws move as though he is running

Perfect weather, not too hot, not too cool. I'd love to see this stay with us until the cooler days of fall set in. The summer flowers and greenery are at their peak. Several of us are going out to Red Lobster for dinner. By the way, Dex has started a new song theme game with an interesting twist. Go have a look and don't hesitate to join in.

Nice here, too. It's a copy of yesterday. Maybe a little too cool for swimming unless you have a heated pool but fine for mowing the lawn which I will be doing later on today.
Wife and kids went to Indianapolis to visit her sister for the day so I get to be mostly lazy.

we have summer fog[some what denser than hill mist]...theres a story round here that when its foggy in certain places you can sit quietly and a legion will come marching by out of the fog ….I once met an old man who swore he had seen and heard the creak of their leathers and the tramp of their shoes as a boy when rounding up sheep on his fathers hill farm

Nice one. I appreciate the old tales as long as they don't jump up and bite me.
It's pouring rain here and has been for over an hour. Warm and wet. Everything needed a good soaking.

MP, I'd suggest you PM Beth and ask about the possibility of having a space of your own on the Blog Spot topic. I know Linda has one there where she has posted her background and some of the things she wanted people to know.
If you scroll down when you first log in, you'll see it between Write! and Chat and Play. If Beth thinks it's a good idea, she can set up a personal space for you. It won't restrict you to posting in that space alone but it will give you somewhere to post anything that may not have to do with Babylon's permanent topics. Good luck with that.

"".theres a story round here that when its foggy in certain places you can sit quietly and a legion will come marching by out of the fog" That sounds harmless enough but up north we have the spectral Coach and Horses with an invisible Coachman and if he stops next to you then your number is up ! I have an old book from the 1800's stored somewhere, it's full of ghostly tales and it's a brilliant read too !!

What? Why would you want to change your Karma? Anyway, I don't think we are using karma right now.
When you scroll down to "Quick Reply", look to the right side of your message window and see if there's an option for "Reply". You should have that option and if you click on "Reply" you'll get another row of options above your message space. They will make it possible for you to add pictures, youtube content, emotiicons, etc.. The Quote option works in much the same way if it's easier for you to use it.
If you are more interested in posting extras than you are in discussion, you really might want to consider asking Beth to set a Blog in for your use.
Good luck

gloomy morning this time it doesn't appear to be lifting … though of course it nmay….as my skill in judging the weather is seriously flawed and has been for a few weeks now... I will not even try to guess how the day will work out weather wise
every one is returning from their summer travels..daughter has gone to meet up with Grandson 2 on his return .. grandson 1 has managed to sail around the French coast without floundering on rocks his partner is very impressed with his nautical know how son 1 and daughter in law got a break from her mother as the old lady is in hospital so they took off and went walking for a week and son 2 is due to return from house and dog sitting as daughter in law 2 and granddaughter come back from their trip to NY

We had thought to visit relatives in Tennessee over the long weekend, but have decided a 4 hour drive each way with heavy traffic may be a little too daunting.
We'll go while the weather is nice but on a boring weekend when the traffic is slower.
Whether you travel or spend Labor Day at home, may you have a wonderful end-of-summer celebration.
