We have ice tonight but a forecast for a little warmer temperatures tomorrow. Not unusual for November but I am still hoping for at least one week of Indian Summer.
This time of year reminds me of Vachel Lindsay's poem, An Indian Summer Day on the Prairie
(In the Beginning)
The sun is a huntress young, The sun is a red, red joy, The sun is an indian girl, Of the tribe of the Illinois.
(MID-MORNING)
The sun is a smouldering fire, That creeps through the high gray plain, And leaves not a bush of cloud To blossom with flowers of rain.
(NOON)
The sun is a wounded deer, That treads pale grass in the skies, Shaking his golden horns, Flashing his baleful eyes.
(SUNSET)
The sun is an eagle old, There in the windless west. Atop of the spirit-cliffs He builds him a crimson nest.
Vachel Lindsay

things to do and peoples to meet so rather rushed this morning the weather is a re run I am gathering that Theresa May has sold us out to the EU... where we will be nothing morwe than a slave state... bound to EU laws and conditions … well that is not what I or 17 million voted for... we voted for a clean break from the EU Well mouse, maybe it's just a complex procedure and she's doing the best she can. Did the U. K. become part o the EU at the same time as the other countries? If so, that means you might remember your country as a separate state and believe that was the best way, but it may not work exactly the same with the other nations under EU rules and laws. Let's say the U. S., Canada, Mexico and the countries of South America decided to go together to orm the American Union. Then, Mexico decided they wanted to go beck to their independent status. Perhaps they could arrange to do it, but with the opther AU countries still in the agreement, it wouldn't be the same as before. Would it? have answered this in the politics Anna...in the Brexit thread

The weather is much better here today. The sun has broken through the clouds and the wind had gone elsewhere.
Apparently, Maxx the cat's bird friend has joined a bird caravan that has taken off for warmer climes. Now, it has occurred to him to stare out the front windows, and he has spotted another cat roaming around. He's been letting us know he NEEDS to go out there but is quieter today than yesterday. I had a chat with him and explained how he'd miss his toys and his meals and his warm fleece blanket. :) He'll figure it out - given a little time.

Our weather forecast is quite chilly for the3m next week or mso with high humidity which could mean snow.
We are planning a low key, stay indoors weekend and looking forward to it. We have a new supply of cookies (cranberry walnut) and are considering a Monopoly tournament if enough people want to play.

I'm home alone, by choice, today. 42 degrees F and not forecast to get much warmer.
Am drinking a mug of hot cocoa to which I added a spoonful of French Vanilla coffee creamer. It just misses being too rich and sweet but is totally tasty at the same time!
Hope all of you are warm and well.
