Very cold but dry so far. Still winter. Our Girl Scout cookies arrived today. At 4 $ per box they are rather pricey but oh so good. I bought a box of Peanut Butter Patties today and have eaten 3 already. Very good this year. Still cold but forecast to climb into the 50s F on the weekend.

Cold but just a little less cold than yesterday. I hope the trend continues. College basketball will have to fight the Olympics this weekend. Best to everyone here for a good weekend coming up.

We've had a little snow today but not enough to make a snowman or cause the streets to be slick. Not cold enough.
Leaving now for home. On the way, I'm going to run in the grocery store and pick up instant cocoa to go with my Girl Scout Cookies.

It's been seasonal today ... temps in the 30s and 40s F .. a little rain and more than a little sun. The most remarkable thing was all the bird song this morning. I woke up to a woodpecker working at a tree outside my window, followed by 3 or 4 different kinds of bird songs. I recognized a cardinal (they winter here) but not the others. One that was especially loud and cheerful went --- Tweeeee tweety tweety tweety Tweee. Does anyone know what that is? It was loud and clear and if I've heard it before, I've forgotten. Anyway, maybe Mr. Groundhog got it wrong. In spite of the chilly temps, it seemed very spring-like. 2 more weeks til I go back to work for the spring reports, etc.. Between now and then, Valentines Day, Presidents Day and St. Patricks day (plus Mardi Gras is in there somewhere). Then, Easter is on the first day of April this year. Easter Fools Day. In the meantime, have a good week!

Spring won't be as far away as it has been. I keep telling myself that.

It is chilly tonight and on through tomorrow.
We had a church supper for the first Friday of Lent and came straight on home. I napped longer than I should have and the result is that I shall be up for another hour or so and sleep late in the morning.
A wish for a nice weekend for all.
