I guess it was due time for me to injure myself in a stupid accident - it happens ever so often. This time isn't as bad as it might have been but bad enough.
It was hot today - temp in the high 80s. I was walking across the back yard, barefoot. The lawn sprinkler (green, almost the same color as the grass) had been in use earlier but had been turned off and not put away. I hit it full tilt with my right foot and suspect I stove up 2 toes and know I scraped my foot across the top. Ouch!!! It is still stinging. Plus, it aches all the way up my leg.
May as well be resigned to limping for the coming week. Taking a couple of tylenol now to help me sleep. grrrrrrr Nobody's fault but my own. Should have been watching where I was going.

Does it all start running toward fall after the Solstice?
Our hottest weather is July and August.
Hot and sunny again today.
I can wiggle my toes but still find it painful to put pressure on the foot (walk, etc). I'll give it today to recover, then if not better tomorrow, go have it seen.
Thanks for good advice.

You must be more careful, Beth. But I would speak to everyone about putting things away, too.
It is a hot day. 88 F by the porch thermometer and still going up. We are to expect thunderstorms later. A stay at home, Monday.

Still hobbling today. In fact I have dragged out my pretty little flower covered cane from when I had the ACL knee injury and am hobbling around with assistance. The pain's a little better. Hoping for daily improvement.
Hot and sunny (into the low 90s F today)

It is very warm with rain showers today. We went out and about for several hours. The house was too warm when we returned. I need to turn on the AC now and make something light for supper.

On June 11th we became proud parents for the third time. We have a baby girl called Amy who is doing well (as, mercifully, is her mother!) Yes, she is still tired but will be her old self soon enough.
And of course sleep is more difficult than before!
Amy weighs 7lb 8 oz and is 21 inches long.

Hi Mike Marshall, My good wishes to both yourself and your wife and may everything go well for the whole family. It looks like Amy will be a tall girl when she grows up, the average baby is 20 inches. Congrats again.!!!

Cheffy.. the farming series which live and farm in different periods of history are really good.. I hope you enjoy them I think theres one going back further than the Tudors... there is also a program about Christmas feasting set in an old castle[quite near us[ .. .which still retained the original kitchens they cooked and prepared from old recipes and served and decorated the way they would have in the 13th 14th century...I will see if theres a link.. a friend of mine is an archeologist.. and they were working on a site near by here.. they always have an open weekend after the dig.. any way they constructed a hut as it would have been lived in.. in Roman Times.. I was surprised at how cosy these huts would have been..[though the smoke from the fire would have not been pleasant to live with] Hi Mouse, plus, you would be breathing in the same air until all the oxygen was gone unless there was a window that could be opened? I'm certainly glad of the modern conveniences that we have now.
