had a few rays of sunshine but the majority of the day is liquid sunshine....hard rain showers with SSW wind gusts of 25mph so a perfect day in my estimation....20 years of hot weather and to much sunshine makes me appreciate the weather here.
I don't know why I was so chilled the other night but have been fine since...

In the morning I found myself too unwell to go to the movies with my daughter as I usually do. Prior to that I had been out in the backyard digging and pulling weeds in my vegetable garden. I stayed out until sunset, so no doubt that was the cause. One doesn't always know what is ahead for us, that's for sure.!!!

Hi Kronks, it has been 43degrees centigrade.I came out of the movies around noon and it was like a searing hot oven, that was last summer. The weather forecast says that we can expect dryer and hotter conditions this summer, so I guess I'll be spending a lot of time hanging aroound in the supermarket where there is air conditioning
As for the sneezing, it is strange, it does seem that we are passing things on via the Internet. Sometime ago when I had the flu it seemed that even though we were from different countries, posters were saying that they also were ill. It was a new strain that was going around.
It could be true though, because, believe it or not, the things that we hold for too long in our minds does seem to have an effect on other people. I have known that for a long time, which is why I see myself as being healthy. The mind is a very powerful instrument. The Tibetan Lamas have proven that by what they can do.

going shopping ...am going with the expectation of NOT finding a coat I like...perhaps a negative attitude will work ...who knows.. but if I don't find one ..then I shall forget all about coats until autum rolls round again colder this morning..snow forcast for later in the week...but its still grey gloomy and damp later didn't see anything I liked...so will now await autum did however manage to get a little outfit for young Isambard in a fine knitted cotton 3-6 mths little top and pull ons ..hope his parents like it..no point in getting first size as they will be inundated with first size..plus if he is like his father he will be a big baby daughter of course managed to find several things she couldn't live without lol the next shopping trip will be to an electrical store as i need a new CD player and at the moment I am without a radio in my room other than a small pocket player with ear plugs...which isn't really satisfactory any way that will be next weeks outing... its getting quite bitter out side larger children seem to be more the rule than the exception nowadays. 2 of my grand children are a head taler than their parent was at this age. More muscular and better coordinated, too.

I do NOT look forward to winter, but a few snowy days can be delightful as long as we don't have too many. Now, we are in the dead of winter. Starting in about a month, we'll begin to see a few little seedlings and shoots pushing through though, but it will be 3 more months until spring - officially. I am looking forward to reading the books I got for Xmas and watching the series, The Crown, about Queen Elizabeth as a young monarch. Three months should be plenty of time.

Hi Jessiealan, When I lived in Aberdeen Scotland, I loved when the snow lay thick on the ground and there was a full moon shining. I was full of wonderment at the beauty of the scene, it really was a wonderful experience. It is experiences like this that made me feel close to God. I certainly was on a high during these times in the country of my birth. It is great for reminiscing every so often.

Good for you on the baby outfit. I go up a size, too, when getting a gift. I agree with you. It's a bit late for finding just the right coat. Maybe a raincoat that can go from winter right on into spring. am sorted for spring & autum I have a lovely lightweight wool .,.its just a warm winter coat I need...for going out and funerals etc my black quilted has seen better days and its rather tight..but it will have to do bright sun and a high wind..very cold though kronks lives in a different part of the UK to me..so his weather will be different to mine...

I know the industrial revolution caused generational height and weight loss across society and Europe ..so perhaps were are getting back to the heights every one would have been had the industrial revolution and assorted conditions which sprang from it never happened

Just that under 6' is considered "short" for men and under 5'7" is considered "short" for women. The younger ones certainly do have excellent posture and are well made. It is not cold today. It is what we call "sweater weather". Nice, really, with bright sun. I am baking chess pies this afternoon but otherwise, reading and folding laundry. We raked the back yard this morning to get rid of the blown down branches and dead leaves. May you all have a good midweek.

I think the kids sizes and shapes depend mostly on genes and maybe some on good diet and exercise. I have a girl on her elementary school basketball team, another one in gymnastics and my boy will start tee ball this spring. It's a pleasure to be one of the assistant coaches for the basketball. I hope to help them along any way I can. No football though. Not a risk we're willing to take.

My back door thermometer is registering 68 degrees F with only a little breeze and even that is warmish. Roman spring.
