win and show-nyquist, exaggerator place and show- collect show-lani 3,5,7 exacta box we're picking up lani this time because, he is insane, but, he's a good horse How is he "insane". Tell! some of his workouts take forty-five minutes as compared to fifteen minutes because he will not run, or gallop. he simply won't do what they want him to do, unless and until he is ready , if ever. all thoroughbreds are high strung and stubborn, but, he is the worst to make it to prime time. they photo shopped a lot of his pictures because he "liked" every mare that he encounterd, and showed it he can run though, when he chooses. sports.yahoo.com/news/meet-lani--the-horse-that-threatens-to-make-the-preakness-weird-234633023.html

Looks like lani just might be the one to watch! i think that, if anybody is going to beat nyquist, it is more likely that it will be lani. i like exaggerator, but, he's tried four times. nyquist would have to throw in a real stinker to lose to him.

orrrrrrrrrrr Exaggerator would have to pull a big blast of awesome - and he did. Exaggerator passes Nyquist at start of homestretch, wins Preakness For the first time in five races against his rival, Exaggerator beat Nyquist to win the 141st Preakness Stakes on Saturday. Seizing the lead at the top of the stretch, Exaggerator splashed past a tiring Nyquist on a sloppy track and went on for a 3 1/2-length victory over Cherry Wine on a rain-drenched Pimlico Race Course. "I had a dream trip today," jockey Kent Desormeaux said. "It was an amazing race, and Exaggerator is an amazing horse." It was the first loss in nine races for Nyquist, who finished third and was bidding to become the first undefeated horse since Big Brown to win the first two legs of the Triple Crown. Nyquist had won his first eight races. Cherry Wine, who went off at 17-1 odds, caught Nyquist, the 3-5 favorite, at the line and finished second. Nyquist was sent off as the 3-5 favorite in the 11-horse field, and he dueled with Uncle Lino for the lead through the first mile of the 1 3/16th-mile second leg of the Triple Crown. Then it was all Exaggerator, as he became the first Kentucky Derby runner-up to win the Preakness since 1993. espn.go.com/horse-racing/story/_/id/15649922/exaggerator-outlasts-nyquist-win-preakness-stakes

Exaggerator was my favorite horse in the Derby, but this time I put a few bucks on him all the way. It could have been a waste. It worked out!

After the news come out that he was skipping the Belmont due to medical issues, I thought that could have been the reason he wasn't up to par for the Preakness. there are a lot of reasons that nyquist lost, and that very well could be one, although, if he had any kind of health issue, both morally and legally, he should have been scratched. it is illegal to run a horse that has a known health problem. a vet has to check them the morning of the race and certify that they are sound. even though he ran fairly decent, the weather did make a difference. it was clear that he is not a mudder, whereas exaggerator clearly is. and that wasn't even a muddy track. it was absolute slop. it was the same jockey, but he ran a completely different race. had he ran it like the derby, nyquist would have won. there is just no way in hell that you can run those kind of fractions and have anything left at the end. the first three quarters was like they were running a sprint.
