Sounds nice, mouse. I wish I had the skill and will for vegetable gardening. The hens that supply the green eggs have not been given any artificial additives. There is a breed here (I think they're called Americana chickens) that lays light blue eggs. When they are crossed with chickens that lay brown eggs, the results are green. :_) At least .. so I'm told. he built a conservatory right across the back of the house so its quite long and at one end he installed a wood burner..sofas and comfy chairs..wall tv etc..its south west facing so gets the sun all day...at the other end is his main freezer etc etc and two vines both of which produced grapes.. the combination of warmth from the freezer..natural sunlight and the stove when its cold seem to make ideal vine conditions,,,not a lot but enough to put in a bucket and press them down [got a photo some where of his hairy legs tramping the grapes]...he got about three bottles of wine...not fantastic but drinkable...on his fathers side they were Cheshire farmers so perhaps its in his blood to grow things when he is away on business a lad from nearby goes in and feeds the chickens for him and is paid in all the eggs that are laid while he looks after the chucks Mouse, I wonder if he is the same son who is an artist. If so he must be a very creative person. All those things are creative outlets.

Hope you find some good bargains and buys ... maybe something in alpaca . It's mild and partly sunny today with scattered showers. The Halloween stores open this weekend full tilt and so the traffic will be worse than usual with parents treating their children to a fall tradition even one that's almost totally commercial.

Then, if that is followed by sunny days and crisp cool weather, the foliage will start to turn and will have an especially colorful season. I may try for a few photos.
