That's interesting, Jim. I think I knew that but never thought of it that way ... always just thought the cloud cover held in the warmth. all things being equal, most of the time, the day will get warmer even with the cloud cover. obviously, direct sunlight will make it warmer. the direct sunlight makes it warmer, until the sun goes down. then, because the absence of cloud cover allowed the sun to warm it up, that same absence of cloud cover allows all the heat to dissipate

Well, it's damned cold this a.m. - 20 degrees F
Bet you can't beat that one. lol Every time someone goes in or out waves of cold air come in and suck up the warm.
Not to mention, I have to make a Walgreen's run.
Hope this doesn't last long.

Home again and still brrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
The banana hangover remedies are posted in Holiday Foods. I hear they really work and taste good, too. Just don't make them too cold or drink them too fast.
I'll be back in later when things are less hectic here.

Thanks for spelling it out, Jumbo.

A word to the wise in the USA. Cold front coming in. We won't see seasonal temps again until it starts to warm up on Sunday. Here's the map. The cold temperatures in the north are no surprise but look at the south. Even Miami will have "sweater weather" for New Years. Put away the swim suits, at least for a few days. Oops! I just noticed LA. Cold in CA. Button up Joseph, Chef and JD. We were down to 14 F when I went to bed but I think we're climbing out of it now.
