Okay, I understand what you are driving at. Its cute and you've made some point, but I didn't know there was some connection between Blackpool and the fiction of Deliverance.

Clue in the headline:- "Boy, 14, charged with sex attack on mum."

Okay, I understand what you are driving at. Its cute and you've made some point, but I didn't know there was some connection between Blackpool and the fiction of Deliverance. You missed the scene where the obvious product of incest (or first cousin marriage, at the least) engages in a spot of "Duelling Banjos," then? The inference being that, in context, banjo playing is associated with incest and this is a case of - oh, never mind...

God, what a scumbag!
This bastard should be castrated without anaesthetic and locked up for the rest of his miserable life!

TP, I do remember the scene. However, you're suggesting that this youth was mentally deficient and that is an excuse, at least to some people. Personally, I wouldn't give him that out.
I'm sure that we all agree that an act of rape is first, an act of violence. Secondly unprovoked acts of violence are never justifiable. When applied to parents or children they are especially heinous. I have little doubt that this youth's attorneys will develop some form of mitigation to explain this act, lower mental capability, mental illness, drugs, or whatever, but the court should toss all of these out and apply the full measure of sentencing. If this person makes it into the prison general population it is unlikely he will live to full term. With an excuse (such as above) he would likely go into a different institution where he could live out his full life.

It's Blackpool - better named Cesspool. Stereotypically regarded as a bit backward and a place where your mother is also your sister. And your aunt. And possibly your uncle.
Over here sexual offenders get put in a special wing with their own kind, for their own safety.

Tempus, I resisted that temptation!
But joking apart it's unbelievable that someone can do that to his own mother.

But joking apart it's unbelievable that someone can do that to his own mother. Read elsewhere:- "Blackpool is my home town, I found a good job in the only decent manufacturing industry there (Aerospace) which helped me leave. Had to go back for a mates funeral last year, he did kill himself, what a depressing place it still is. Some good lads with f**k all prospects, on the sick, families split up, depression... I couldn't wait to leave even though I felt for them, I got out. Some others are doing well though. If the Civil Service pulled out it would be even more fucked, that's the big employer in the area. Lots of the old guest houses get more from social for housing scummers who come there trying to con holiday makers so now like Speedy said, 3 or 4 streets back, all those holiday flats are now hostels, there are no decent holiday people any more for them to sell dancing mice to so they either sell drugs, rob or just sign on and drink. Stag and hen do's and puffs mean the town centre is at boiling point every night, not to mention the amount of pubs and clubs there. Its schools are now some of the worst in the country (high schools anyway) so from an early age they are behind. I do think the bomb would be good for it, f**k knows how you can recover it from where it is. Shame really, it was an awesome place to grow up when it was innocent, nothing like swimming in untreated sewage..." Might account for it.

Yeah, Blackpool has gone right downhill over the years, no doubt about it.
Very sad.
