You missed your calling, T. You'd be a great physical therapist. You have the right mind set, plus you've got the song and dance down cold. If need be, I'll go back into PT as an out-patient for another month or two but hope I can avoid that and do it myself. Unfortunately, I don't have anyone to encourage me here. They can't understand why I think I need more endurance. "Take it easy. Take the car" But, I need the walk for the fresh air and clearing my head and all sorts of other important reasons. One day at a time. I'm carrying this one over so I can push you along. So, have you got your miles in yet today? Come on, girl - crack on. Left foot, right foot, the rest'll follow. Just put your head down, find something interesting to have a conversation with yourself about and crack on. You'll be in the next state before you realise!

It's hot out. Can I just skip my walk and stay in and eat too much instead? No. Invest in a water bottle and a compatible belt-attachable pouch.

lol Thank you sweetly. My daughter is going with me in a few. We're going to drive over to NKU and see how it goes. She likes to walk with me on Saturdays ... and then get me to go to her favorite restaurant with her and spring for lunch. It works pretty well and also allows for a little mother, daughter time.

Started out with 2, 2 litre bottles filled with water, 1 attached to either side of his belt. Half way there, he'd stop and pour part of the water out of one bottle and put it back. At his destination, he'd do the same with the other. Then, on returning, he'd stop half way and empty them both and fairly sprint on home. Always felt great and helped him lose weight. Leaving in 3.

Especially in the heat! Here's my bottle arrangement (1l):- foof.cotford-st-luke.co.uk/H2O.htmI borrowed from the ideas of the military and binned the rucksack in favour of belt kit for my water, Mars bars, safety gear, etc. It's the new-fangled type with a ladder of straps on it that straps on the kit weave in and out of so I can just hang what I need for the length of walk/time of year on and rearrange it all until I'm comfortable. Saves having to stop and take the pack off every time you want a drink or need your waterproof or some munchies and far more comfortable, with the load on the shared between the waist and shoulders and nothing on the back pulling you over and making your back sweat. Then again, I'm talking walking on the high moor and not the local streets!

No, Hunny. No you can't. You're no slacker. I'm leaving in a few before it gets hotter. We had storms last night and the humidity isn't so bad. Still, there IS some along with a big, dark grey cloud cover. Wish me luck and I'll pretend you walked, whether or no. It's spring until the equinox, guys. Enjoy it. The one in June is the solstice. It falls on the 21 this year. Then the days start getting shorter again and the dog days set in about 3 weeks later.

One for the "Out of the mouths of babes..." column: On one memorable occasion many years ago, up in the hills with a townie girlfriend what was looking at being a cracking day all day suddenly got dark and grim, as they sometimes do in these places. Water began to fall. As I pulled out my waterproof and began to pull it over my head she looked at me perplexed and bemused. "But I didn't bother with a coat. The weather looked so nice when we left. What do I do...?" "Get wet." Obviously... I wouldn't mind but I never take anyone that I know doesn't really know what to expect to places like this without a thorough briefing beforehand, like "Bring warm clothing and a waterproof." My current birds daughter said, "But why do we need to know how to use the flares and the first aid kit and all that when you already know what to do?" in a sweet, innocent, teenage, naive blonde moment, looking all angelic. "Because I might be the casualty..." Now looking mildly stunned...

I just got an email from Sugi's brother, and she is doing just fine and everything went well. The operation was 4 hours long and she will be in recovery for three to four days.
I'm Back AND THE BIG NEWS IS.....I DO NOT HAVE ANY LUNG CANCER SEEN IN THE PRELIMINARY FIRST STUDIES. It's all inflammation as far as they can see from childhood & adult infections. Now there might be one or two cells, but as far as the Doctor is concerned I do not have lung cancer.
They took 5% of my lung. I'm bruised and okay with pain, I never got beyond a one. The Leads are still in so at a later date they will have to come out.
NAMASTE & THANKS EVERYONE.
