A cold, snowy day but we have been out here and there. My groxery shopping is done for another week! I am cooking chili tomorrow and looking forward to it because we are sure to have cold the rest of the weekend.
Glad Chef and Sug are finished with medical procedures and doing well!
Mouse, I love a few logs on the fire, too, but dread the cleanup.

My car is still technically illegal. I won't be able to get it re-inspected until Monday. Blah. Inspection and Registration are state thingies. Registration helps with roads, Inspection helps with being safe and all that lovely heart-warming safety stuff!
I worked on only maybe 3.5 hours of sleep. I'll probably end up accidentally napping anytime now!

Mouse, I love a few logs on the fire, too, but dread the cleanup. we have a multifuel stove[wood or coal] so that contains most of the mess of log and open fires....it has two glass doors which can be opened for an open fire or closed when its just a matter of heat for the room..though one can still see the fire even though the doors are closed i love burning apple or cherry wood just for the smell

Sounds nice, mouse. We have more snow .. not a lot but on the pavement as well as the grass. we got almost an inch, but none on the dirt or gravel. everywhere there is grass, there is snow. it looks kind of weird

The soil loses heat faster than stone and concrete? Always amazed to see cast iron inspection covers free of snow when there's feet of it all around and it's minus whatever, simply because of the heat given off by what lies festering below...

Would be in the baking aisle and you want the big ones otherwise I may have to send you a bag A popular camping or backyard tradition in North America is the roasting or toasting of marshmallows over a campfire or other open flame.[5] A marshmallow is placed on the end of a stick or skewer and held carefully over the fire. This creates a caramelized outer skin with a liquid, molten layer underneath. According to individual preference, the marshmallows are heated to various degrees—from gently toasted to a charred outer layer. The toasted marshmallow can either be eaten whole or the outer layer can be removed and consumed separately and the rest of the marshmallow toasted again. S'mores are made by placing a toasted marshmallow on a slice of chocolate which is placed between two graham crackers. These can then be squeezed together.[6]

Very nice of your daughter, mouse. I cannot imagine my daughters taking the time before work. They would suggest a nice glace of iced tea or water.
The sun is out today but we have 2 or 3 days of snow starting tomorrow. Then, spring like weather for this coming weekend. Typical March.
