Some of Malika Zarra's latest album Berber Taxi was on radio earlier. The family moved from Morocco to Paris when she was 3. She sings in French, Arabic, Berber and English (seemingly all in the same song!).
There seems to be a strong North African to jazz, maybe because of the African roots and a boost from France developing its own jazz style when it was still the colonial power. I'd guess though that so many different cultures have followed each other there that they have all left something behind right back Mauretania, Numidia and Carthage.
From somewhat further South, I'm not sure whether this counts as 'Jazz' but he was promoted a lot last year and it's bloody good! Another predominantly Muslim culture of course.
