It went downhill when they took the controls off so that speculative merchant banks, savings banks and building societies all became the same thing. There are decent bankers, but with the kind of competition that they were forced into, they became secondary to the speculators.

the true test is whether he would be more concerned with the bank making money than in keeping the newvendor on the corner from going under i dunno jumbo...what i do know is he loves his family and is in his private life an honourable man that's certainly commendable, and would definitely set him apart from the vast majority.
