TV channels are busy pulling anything that could be construed as offensive... Programmes like Little Britain, The Mighty Boosh, The League of Gentlemen, Bo Selecta, Fawlty Towers ad nauseam. Churchill has gone from greatest Briton to most racist vile and evil fascist and now..... David Attenborough WWF charity video is deleted over racism fears
The World Wildlife Fund UK shared the footage of people bathing in a river as Sir David, 94, urges listeners to 'stabilise the human population.'
Viewers were quick to slam the footage as racist, claiming it unfairly 'blames people of colour for a growing global population'.
The WWF deleted the video hours after sharing it and issued an apology on Twitter.www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8412895/David-Attenborough-WWF-charity-video-deleted-racism-fears.htmlIt is a fact that Africa and Asia have booming populations whilst the birth rates in the west are negative and 'require immigration'. Truth is racist, but then it always will be.

TV channels are busy pulling anything that could be construed as offensive... Programmes like Little Britain, The Mighty Boosh, The League of Gentlemen, Bo Selecta, Fawlty Towers ad nauseam. Without Fawlty Towers, what have you Brits got? Well, an awful lot actually, but they're being sent down the memory hole, too. I think they've forgotten this one, or the kids have yet to hear of it.... Rising Damp - starred Leonard Rossiter, Frances de la Tour, Richard Beckinsale and Don Warrington.[4] Rossiter played Rupert Rigsby (originally Rooksby in the stage play), the miserly, seedy, and ludicrously self-regarding landlord of a run-down Victorian townhouse who rents out his shabby bedsits to a variety of tenants. Beckinsale played Alan Moore, a long-haired, naive, good-natured and amiable medical student who occupies the top room. Frances de la Tour played Ruth Jones, a fey, whimsical spinster and college administrator who rents another room, is approaching middle age, and with whom Rigsby is in love. In the pilot episode, a new tenant arrives. Philip Smith (Don Warrington) is a planning student who claims to be the son of an African Chief. As a black man, he brings out the ill-informed fears and knee-jerk suspicions of Rigsby. However, the landlord quickly accepts his new tenant and henceforth regards him with a wary respect... wary because of Philip's intelligence and smooth manners, and especially because Miss Jones finds herself attracted to the handsome sophisticate. Of these four principal actors, only Beckinsale was a new recruit – the others had all played their roles in the original stage play. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rising_DampIt was a great series, I have it on dvd so they can all get.... what have you Brits got?Why do US networks take successful British shows and try to Americanise them? Take the case of Red Dwarf, a sci-fi show with cult status and a dedicated following. Perhaps the most notorious failed pilot was the 1992 attempt to make an American adaptation of the cult British science-fiction series Red Dwarf. Produced and written by Linwood Boomer — who would later go on to great success with Malcolm in the Middle www.flowjournal.org/2011/08/failed-pilots/We have stuff they just can't seem to rip-off successfully. I'd like to see a US version of Blackadder!

I don't know ...possibly I like verbal repartee rather than visual...….. The Major's verbal repartee is what caused the trouble..... Major Gowan tells Fawlty about the time he took a woman to see India play cricket at the Oval. He then says: ‘The strange thing was, throughout the morning she kept referring to the Indians as niggers. “No, no, no,” I said, “the niggers are the West Indians. These people are wogs”.’Very funny stuff, unless you're one of today's feeble woke-sters..

Les Dawson was a great comedian, the mother in law jokes and one or two of his books made many laugh. Tell a Dawson joke today and they'd be up in arms about the offence caused etc. And that's it; today's comedians don't tell jokes, they tell you about their family, a friend, their day/week/month etc. And that's all they do now. Observe and avoid offending anyone. I wasn't a Victoria Wood person, myself, nor a fan of her sidekick, Julie Waters. Joanna Lumly? Purdy in the Avengers. But that was when she was a little more desirable.

might of known… but then Purdy was a man thing wasn't she .. same with Honour blackman... ive been watching Victoria wood quite a loys during the last few months,, her dinner ladies were such brilliant thumbnail setches…. I always felt she should have been more of an actress......but I don't care for walters,,, mrs underskirt or what ever ie the waitress was massively unfunny......... but as you say different humours... but every now and then the humour and laughter coincide
not the avengers the series with Jennifer ? they were two fashionista,,, frequently drunk..and one of the Swhallia girls was a daughter.. my mind isn't working at all today,, think I am due a holiday but wont be let out for another month.. end of July...family wont let me make a break for freedom before time.... but seems its all been arranged son 1 one will come to collect me

Rising damp was a top quality comedy there is not much to compare to it these days so much I rarely watch comedy, it all seem too middle class and PC.
