Face it, not all people are cut out to be good parents and not all teachers are good at their jobs. We take it as it comes.
I have to agree with Annie and Jessie, the best plan is to take it a family at a time and hope for the best.
A lot of the time, if the teachers take a personal interest it perks the parents up, too.

I have to agree with Annie and Jessie, the best plan is to take it a family at a time and hope for the best. A lot of the time, if the teachers take a personal interest it perks the parents up, too. as you will have read in the reports I posted that the situation is being addressed...to some extent ... but the longer society turns a blind eye to bad parenting the longer the situation will continue and I absolutely agree that some parents are useless as are some teachers...but perhaps its time bad parents were recognised as such and perhaps its time that bad parenting became totally unacceptable and that they were reminded of their responsibilities as well as their entitlements... children with out disabilities going to school wearing nappies and unable to feed them selves is totally unacceptable .. because if children are still nappy wearers at 5 they usually also have other limitations ie social mixing/sharing etc and whats more it holds the other children back...and that is not fair on any one

My opinion on this came from my never having heard of a situation when a 5 year old was still in diapers unless there was some kind of disability that made for slow toilet training. In that case, I'd have to sympathize with the parents and the child. oh I see.. and understand better where you are coming from... but this is a big problem in over indulged never taking responsibility UK and to some extent parts of Europe....and its not a problem related to just the undereducated and crosses all financial levels ...if it wasn't a problem.. educationalist.. sociologists and politos would not be involved....nor would other parents be asking why or how did this situation arise...when they too become aware.. some times first hand by visiting children or child who has come to play ..etc... the articles are well worth reading .. especially the secret teacher
