It depends on who you are talking about. Many people in this country are racist by degrees. Others are bigoted toward poor people. Put these together and the discrimination can be a way of life for many. It is probably not the same situation in the U. K.. I am curious about why you chose the article about the sticker for comment. Unless you have spent time here and absorbed the cultural ups and downs, I doubt you could grasp the gist of the situation. if you look hard enough for an ism be it racist or any thing else.. you will find it and some thing no matter how remote or inprobable will be swooped upon with great joy .. right now the the idiots are incharge of what can be said and even when it isn't true the acusations will fly .. and it matter not a wit nor jot wether its in the U.s or UKthe messages are exactly the same ... with not a hint or irony people such as the one in the article are able to stand and say ‘"""""Your entire existence is drenched in racism. From micro-aggressions to terrorism, you guys built the blueprint for this s***. ‘Come see me when you realise that racism isn’t learned, it’s inherited and consciously or unconsciously passed down through privilege. ‘Once white people begin to admit that their race is the most violent and oppressive force of nature on Earth… then we can talk.’""" and guess what not one person reacted and told this cretin some real and pertinent truths.. not one person stood up straight away and called this person ou instead one of the politicalparties has clasped it to their bossom .. how appalling is that .. that even political parties are swayed by arrant nosence and pc ... because we do appear to have become cowed and dejected nodding dogs not for what we have done ... but because slebs etc are telling us what we have done ..... racism its true is a different story in the States than it is/was here ....

Jessie wrote """"Others are bigoted toward poor people"" which I found an interesting statement ...and talked it over with friends ... and came to the conclusion[rightly or wrongly] that it wasn't bigotry against poor people that most people feel... but the behaviours of ""some""poor peoples that people react to.. and of course we were talking only in the context of the UK...and who hasn't a reaction against yobs whether they are rich yobs or poor yobs I think its safe to say yes people are biggotted but not based on monetary terms

It is possible this was taken as racist because it was posted in an area that is far heavier in white population than black. 78% white or something close to that. They are right. It may not be racist in the U.K., but only the racists would have put it up, here. White Supremacists here are extreme racists. Don't let anyone tell you differently. no it wouldn't be racist in the UK because the prople who put up stickers like that are not white.. or particularily black either... they are either Asian or middle easterners of Islamic persuasian .. and as the authorities don't bat an eyelid we can only assume it isn't racist or religionist etc
