The most glorious sunshine morning....but very cold after a bitter night.......and government warnings about the old and those with heart or breathing problems to stay warm

another rerun.. but not as cold and windy ...every one leaves to day back to respective places of work and learning
due to the cold the air is crystal clear with a cloudless blue sky .. fabulous.. though we expect very much colder temps as the week progresss to well below freesing day and night and some snow on at least three days .. brrrrrrrrrrr but as we don't have to go any where we will sit back and enjoy what ever the weather throws

There's a lot of sun. It's a little nippy but not too bad. We took the kids to the park for some roller skating.
This weekend flew. I could use another day or relaxation.

it was very sunny but freezing cold.. now clouds are appearing the coal hod is filled as are those in the back porch along with the logs neatly stacked...daughtewrs been food shopping so we are now ready for what ever comes our way in with the weather warnings are warnings of possible failures of electricity and gas.. so the wind up torches candles and lanterns are to the fore ....mind if all this turns out the usual way.. we will just have a flurry of snowflakes and frozen bird baths .. but being prepared never hurts...

One thing we try to remember to do in bad cold weather and that's let the faucets drip over night so the water won't freeze and the pipes won't burst.
At this time of year, it won't last long.

a white morning after flurries which came to nothing all day yesterday .. looks as if there could be more all roads are clear here but its very cold but some beautiful pictures being posted from all over the country ...the quality of the pics is well worth a little inconvienience given the hype from weather stations and government I quite expected to see at least a few wolves and polar bears walking around.... people were even urged to travel before 6pm last evening as trains would be canceled......when did society get so feeble and fragile ?a dusting of snow and every thing stops
good job we are not fighting a war isn't it ... health and safty saying.. its too cold to shoot and sont forget your ear muffs

after yesterdays continual flurries again....suddenly it all came down in a whoosh.. about 2-3 inches of it and then off and on all night and now its a white world bright and very clear.. the air for the last few days has been sparkelingly clear.. lovely the main roads seem to be clear in this area although the milk has not yet arrived ...

mouse, I am glad you got at least this one good snow of the winter. So far, the few snows we have had this year were skimpy and did not stay on the ground long (part of one day). Now, we are into mild weather and the birds are starting to work on their nests for spring. Not that I'm complaining, mind you. It has just been odd.
