Hi Chefmate, The Bible is understood by interpretation. Christian Scholars from all countries and denominations are studying the Bible thoroughly each one giving their views of what it means. As it is already stated we are seeing the contents of the Bible as through a glass darkly. Is that still the case? People have been found to have Chakras in their bodies, these are energy power points. This isn't mentioned in the Bible, does that mean it isn't so, that it is one big lie? I am aware of these Chakras, when you tune into them you become aware of the vibrating energy. Chakras aren't mentioned because they are not of God but rather the occult, the devil. www.gotquestions.org/what-is-a-chakra.htmlWHO SAID? Once again this is your interpretation only. I was able to use your link and the person who had the experience with the Chakras is assuming something that is not necessarily true. She is definitely jumping to erroneous conclusions. Did God create the human body or was it Satan. Satan can only influence our thinking and that is to commit wickedness. Wickedness is what is evil and the people who perpetrate evil are the ones who are following Satan. When God created this Universe and mankind, we were instructed to till the earth and multiply and replenish the earth. This is exactly what is being done even to this day. God said that all was good which means also everything that is composed in the human body which also contains Chakras. Didn't Jesus say that the Kingdom of God is within, so how do you suppose you can gain entry?

I grew up in a household where such questions and more were discussed with by whole variety of peoples..some were theology and divinity scholars other were just practising Christians and a few non believers..athiests and agnostic..it was an interesting mix .. I don't ever remember any discord even though different stances were taken ..some times even the interpretations of a single word where the Greek or latin origin differed slightly from the English interpretation and common usage and of course the transubstanciation question never failed to ensure a good discussion...
the one thing agreed on by all was that dogmatism in religious thinking closes the door to expanding knowledge of both self and religious ..... and extremism was a road to destruction and hate toward those who were the victims of extreemists not only in relation to other religions but also factions within Christianity its self
Christianity its ethics and its questioning of self and its striving after truth....it also places a responsibility on all to look to the greater good and for all to be responsible for their own actions not a bad road to go down
when it comes to dogmatism and extremism..well those are man made concepts and not of the words of Christ

because I listen to the Holy Spirit teaching me....Keller plainly indicated God may have a "trapdoor" for unbelievers...you will not find that God spoke that anywhere in the bible...God was very concise as to heaven and hell...in fact, Jesus spoke more about hell. To understand the bible, one needs to be born again, our dead spirit regenerated by God...without that one cannot comprehend spiritual things. Every human is born into this world with a sinful nature that is in rebellion to God...only God can regenerate that dead spirit by His word and the Holy Spirit. Hi Chefmate51, Would you like to state the process of how you were born again, to me, being born again means reincarnation, how do you know your interpretation is correct? BTW when the man mentioned the word trapdoor he was using his own words, that is obvious.? being born again is a common enough term in relation to evangelicals it has nothing to do with reincarnation or death or literal interpretation..it simply means starting over with a clean slate...nothing more and nothing less..seeing and hearing with new eyes and understandings

We will each be judged individually on all that we have each put into action.

I on the other hand believe that being born again means exactly what it says. People on the various forums say that they don't believe in Karma (you reap what you sow) because people are doing bad things and seem to be getting away with it without suffering any consequences. But if you take reincarnation as being a fact then it all fits into place. Each person is born again with the new body that contains all that it has reaped in their previous birth. They will live their life according to what they put into action the lifetime before, so you see, they are never missing out on the consequences of their actions. So simple.!!! Jesus did say that a person will reap what they sow and he did say that in order for them to receive enlightenment they have to be born again. That is what Karma is designed to teach you. With each reincarnation a person is learning as they go through life, that way they are able to gradually evolve spiritually.

no not scholars interpretations..peoples interpretations ..a clean slate..a renewal Hi Mouse, That is what reincarnation is: it is a process where you are eventually enlightened to the point that you can enter the Kindom of God. Whilst on this Earth you are reaping what you have sown. As you learn, you progress spiritually until you reach that stage. A person does NOT jump from having the mind of a sinner to the purity of a sinless person, that is not possible. Therefore reicarnation gives you ample time and many opportunities in which to learn. Sounds logical to me.!!!

no not scholars interpretations..peoples interpretations ..a clean slate..a renewal Hi Mouse, exactly how is that going to be accomplished.where is the enlightenment coming from if we have been told that we are comprehending the contents of the Bible as if through a glass darkly. It doesn't make sense to me by your interpretation. Don't forget Jesus visited the sinners in hell, for what purpose?

Don't forget Jesus visited the sinners in hell, for what purpose? what is not to understand ..the story of Johm Bunnyon is a prime example of sinner turned away from sin...having started his life again again or theres Mary Magdaline who also led her renewed life ...being reborn or born again is not literal its a new start a new beginimng..that is how people have described fresh starts in life since the earliest times...no scholars need as there is nothing to interpreate reincarnation is entirely a different matter afterall wasn't Jesus a reincarnation ?? is nt he God reincarnated as his [own]Gods son...for the benefit of mankind... and actually there is no need for any interpretation of scholars to answer these two subjects..they are quite simple to understand a God who can form a world and create mankind..is more than capable of taking human form to get his message across and seeing through a glass darkly..i thought it was one of the apostles who said that ? two thousand years people would be seeing through a glass darkly......as many do to day....two thousand years ago understandings and learnings were very different to suit the needs of that particular societal way to day we are capable of much more understandings..due the the societies we now live in I find nothing obscure or difficult to understand with the above concepts

Hi Mouse, ECKANKAR stems from India. I do believe they believed in reincarnation long before Jesus came along. I choose to believe in reincarnation because I have had the experience of having lived many other lifetimes in the past, so I have the proof that there IS such a thing. The Evangelists can think what they like. So Jesus is now sitting at the right hand of God. Is he? That is hard for me to imagine if they are supposed to be one.

you have moved the goal posts...and brought in ekankar when we were discussing Christianity etc
of course ideas of reincarnation was around before the last to thousand yrs...the world and its people didn't suddenly appear 2,000 yrs ago and evangelicals can indeed think as they wish..however they do not believe that being born again is a physical happening nor do they think it a reincarnation...they understand the concept of starting afresh..renewal being born again with the past washed clean etc etc another one was Saul of Tarus who became reinvented as Paul the preachers and Saint if you can believe in soud travel..visiting Tibet and having non physical beings in your living room etc ..then its hardly an impossibility to understand the Trinity or the concept of sitting on the right hand of God the Trinity its self is not an impossible concept ...whether one believes or not after all we have trinities all around you in the shape of those we know
